It is kind of troubling that there's never a good answer to some questions, sometimes you gotta chose between a compromise that leaves you unsatisfied OR being blunt and straight forward, possibly, hurting the persons feelings. This is specially troubling when someone approaches you with personal issues and you can sort of grasp the whole picture but for some reason they are having tunnel vision, do you risk your friendship by telling them to stop being an idiot? or do you tell them what they wish to hear, to keep your friendship but harming him in the long run? Someone once told me that people who are so delicate to be unable to take a truth from a friend weren't your friends to begin with but at the same time it feels like a waste to not have options on these dilemmas, it's almost always a gamble.
