My personal advice for victims of bullying

kazie23
This is my gonna be my topic for anyone who has: 1) Experienced Bullying and would be comfortable sharing experiences 2) Is experiencing Bullying and would like advice on how to handle it 3) Would just like to rant about Bullying and express themselves freely without being judged ................. I have been a victim of bullying myself in the past, and like to help others by giving advice to them, if they want or need it! Always willing to help!

Oh yes, I've gone through bullying a lot through grade school. It may not be as severe as compared to this current generation, but it really affects your mind psychologically. I had very low self esteem when I was a kid and had difficultly making friends. But the friends I did try to make, would turn against me in the end and I'd get make fun of because I was skinny and short for my age. Kids are just mean ya know? And I do believe that it has to do with misguided parenting. You could get made fun of because of your name, your height, gender, physical appearances. There was less of that as I moved on to middle school and high school since I was lucky somehow. I'm not sure if it was because I was in the Magnet program for the performing arts? Or I just avoided most kids to not care what anyone else thought? I think it was because I finally hung around a crowd of friends that I could relate with, rely on, and felt accepted for who I was. It's honestly really depressing these days cause it seems as though as time went on, Bullying got way way worse. There's also Cyberbullying since kids have access to smartphones, tablets, computers for social media. I've seen this documentary for my Psych class called "Bully." It was made in 2010 or roughly around that time... It's really difficult to watch but a very powerful documentary. I think it has been somewhat addressed after that documentary, but it still happens around the world unfortunately.

My personal advice is to banter with them if it's verbal, if you can make them laugh they and others might even end up liking you. If it's physical you beat the shit out of them, or at least try, if you fight them every time they try to do something to you, they'll back off soon enough because you're not being a pushover and bullies don't like challenge. But actually beating the crap out of them once will pretty much get them off your back immediately and it'll show others not to fuck with you.

My advice is to just ignore the bullies. If that doesn't work, tell an authority figure that you trust! Trust me, telling someone will give those weights on your chest a lift off!

^ That literally never worked for me. Ignoring them is the same thing as becoming their doormat and "authority figures" generally don't do all that much to help. You need to show the bully that they can't mess with you and get away with it yourself by standing up for yourself whether that's through bantering with them or in really bad cases punching their lights out, but trying to get someone to help you will always make you seem weak (tbh you kinda are being a pussy if you do that) and because they'll perceive you that way then they'll keep coming back.

iv been bullied all my life, by teachers and students and my own family members things being thrown at me, snarky comments, being pushed in the hall shit, i even had a dude, i didnt even know him, yell "LOSER" in my face while walking down the hall to class people who i didnt even know would somehow dislike me, and i think it was because shitty people who i knew would talk about how weird i was and exaggerate things because they had nothing better to talk about iv stepped into a classroom on the first day of school, and this girl yelled "OH HELL NO" in the middle of that semester she ended up liking me and i shared my colored pencils with her pretty much how it always went, when they did get to know me they liked me.

Bullying in Germany is more subtle, less obvious and more psychological terror. And it worked on me for many years, i do not think it ever fully stopped it just got less and less obvious. How i got over it? Well video games and anime i guess.

Tbh when I was at school I never experienced or even saw bullying when it came to guys. Girls use to be proper bitches to eachother though sometimes and they were ridiculously obvious and calculated with it too

heres some advice you will never see these fucking people again in your life (same with your friends, so be sure to stay in contact out of school) and only words you should care about are the ones coming from people who know you the most
