Going the distance

So, how far would you go for something you wanted desperately? What would you do, sacrifice, or even go through to obtain what you desire? With that in mind; have you ever gone that distance, to obtain what you desired so badly, only to no longer care/want what you have obtained? There are movies and stories based on stuff like this I believe.

In all seriousness... That's dependent on the time and place more than the goal. Many experience periods of progress and regression. I struggle with trying to maintain the former while succumbing to the latter far too often. Even on the days you feel beat down and you start to lose faith in yourself, I think anything worth being truly passionate about is worth staking everything on. Of course, that's assuming it's going to fulfill you and pay off in the end. That's unfortunately a question that we can't always answer in advance, but taking risks is better than never budging an inch from where you are.

sadly money makes the world go around, buuut.. it only costs around $200 for a one-way ticket across the country!! i was very thankful to save up and visit a few online friends in seattle, wa. full of sacrificing 2 paychecks, missing meals, and cutting sleep- it was completely worth it. life is supposed to be full of sacrifices, so ofc your relationship will have some!! if you really do love them, you'll do anything.

if im being honest, im a pretty weak person mentally and physically the only thing i can think of where i really struggled to make something right it was for selfish reasons, but i did sacrifice a good amount of my mental health all in an effort to not be alone i guess when a stray cat was bullying my maxy i ran up to it and was willing to fist fight the fucker to save my kitty, if that counts. have i worked hard and waited a long time just to receive the thing i chased for and felt hollow? yeah thats a common thing they say the idea of having that thing makes you happier than when you have it would i give anything for an item? no for a person? depends who id die for my mother and id accept bodily harm for my cats i used a good chunk of my savings to save my cat after he was run over, so maybe thats the answer? my thoughts were all over the place on this one, sorry ;w;

@will, totally was not expecting the song but still listened to it lol. Thank you very much for the comment and wise words. @milk That just sounded so very sweet, bet they are super happy to have you as a friend. totally got confused at the end part though when you mentioned relationship. @cac So very true. @Lamby that was very touching, especially because I love animals lol. That and the start, made it more meaningful. Well, not gonna lie, I was not expecting any of these replies in the slightest. Mostly because my question was not answered tbh. The first part, the going the distance for something, that was answered but it was not really the question; it was giving detail to the question. An example would be "Yeah there was this girl I liked in high school, but I was not the most "handsome" so I did everything I could to fix myself up. I even went and joined the marines just because I heard she liked men in uniform. It was the worst years of my life, I lost an eye, some of my hearing, and friends I made while fighting for my life. The screams of war and the sounds of the living taking there final breath still haunts me as I see the faces of the dead every night I rest. When I finally got out, when I finally arrived home; I got to see her again, she even smiled my way, but at that point I don't care anymore or even remotely want her. All I want now is to pet my dog and spend time with my family." Something like that.

that marines part was haunting xD but ah ty for the clarification :3 i dont believe iv ever had that feeling when it came to life experiences, but i have felt that with items ill want something so bad, save up for it, but when i get it, i lose that sense of happiness i had while saving up and waiting to have it oh, iv powered through anime and manga's before just because i heard they were good and i was utterly disappointed Re:Zero was one. it was so popular so i suffered through each stupid poorly paced episode just for nothing Dexter too sorry if this wasnt the answers you were looking for :s

@Lamby I stopped watching Re:Zero after episode 5, I didn't get the hype at all :| Back on topic, I will always try my best to do everything I can to get what I want, depends on how much I want it. Which pushes me to go out of my comfort zone, and I honestly hate doing it. But if theres constant failure and I have been pursuing it for a very long amount of time, I tend to lose steam and want to give up. Luckily nothing I wanted has put me off long enough for me to give up yet.
