hmmmm, im not very into high fantasy, so im not sure if i can help but the Warcraft books are very good for fantasy. I'd recommend Rise of the Horde i dont think youd need to have played the games to get an appreciation for it https://moly.hu/system/covers/big/covers_130104.jpg if you consider looking for something non fantasy In the Miso Soup is a good japanese horror and A Flower for Algernon could also pick up Jurassic Park, as the movie was based on a book George rr Martin was inspired a lot by George rr Tolkien, so maybe the LOTR series is up your alley
