Communication Balance

solid_snake95
Okay so I thought of this awhile ago and wanted to share my relationship advice to everyone else to help them in their relationships presently or in the future. Are you a crutch or a over bearing partner? When answering this question you gotta be honest with yourself. For example I have been a big time crutch to my past partners. Always saying sorry all the time, and being afraid to put in my 2 cents on what I think on IMPORTANT subject matters. This has always caused my relationships to crash and burn. Little did I know that I have already received advice from a knowledgeable acquaintance of mine awhile back on the ship. He told me to never apologize for things you cannot change or for something you did not do. I failed to absorb that information until now. So being a crutch is not the way to go. Now on the other hand...when you are constantly complaining at your partner about everything little thing they do that you don't like. This is annoying and will inevitably end with them going behind your back and messing around, because they are tired of the same old complaining they receive. The cure to this is to and I emphasize this greatly....BE YOUR OWN DAMN PERSON WITH YOUR OWN DAMN PERSONALITY!!!!! This way your partner knows what they are getting into, likes you for you, and actually appreciates your advice and opinions! It is a perfect "BALANCE". If it doesn't click, then you end things and you both find someone more compatible to you. Feel free to share stories and your own communication advice down below in this forum. I honestly look forward to hearing about your experiences and together we can make MO couples great again. https://gifimage.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/american-eagle-gif-6.gif

I've found this too, I never thought I was looking for this specifically but that's how I go about relationships. When I talk to people I gauge how well we "click" based on the support balance. I have a helpful personality so it's hard for me to open up and let someone else support me instead of being the one who's always there. But I realised that doesn't work a while ago and now I look for people who can reciprocate. This is a really good message for everyone out there who's actually looking for a lover on this site. It's all about mutual support, love is an action not a feeling. It won't happen randomly, or exist without putting some effort in. I hope people see this thread, it's some real relationship advice instead of the usual hookup ish threads. Good luck out there Otakus <3

Alls I can say is, if you have A.D.D. and fail to look after the mundane stuff in your life, and if he/she voluntarily cleans for you, you sure as hell better be leaving hidden messages with gift cards, coupons for restaurants, and movie tickets every once in a while. It puts a lot of burden on people, and shouldn't be taken for granted.

For real ^ My old roommates never did chores, I was like the mom/maid and all I got in return was they sometimes paid rent on time. Let's just say when the lease ran out I was all too happy to bail on them.

Hey, idk if this is my place to say this but I'm upset AF right now so. Me n my boyfriend had a little dispute earlier. I asked him where he'd like to get married and he said he didn't know, so then I asked "at least tell me in or out of the country?" And again he said he doesn't know. So I started getting upset and he was all like "look fuck off, I fucking hate deciding that shit" and that hurt me... Because like...this is going to be our big day and he just, first of all said he wants no part in helping me plan it, and secondly he called it shit. So now I'm just really hurt and don't know if I was in the wrong or not for this?

Maybe he didn't mean to hurt you, but I don't think you're in the wrong, he definitely could have handled it better. If I were in his shoes I would say it doesn't matter, you decide, instead of being rude like that. Maybe he was just in a bad mood?
