Music genre likes & dislikes

meisterman1985
Genres I like are mostly VGM, Vocaloid, anime OP/ED/BGM and MADs from Nico Nico Douga. Maybe J-Pop if I ever could follow that genre. Although K-Pop sounds good, it feels odd when you are an otaku meaning focused on Japanese media, but prefer K-Pop over J-Pop. Genres I dislike are most songs that are inevitable by being prominent and repetitive for many years. Or should I say "Today's Hits" in American music. I even cannot stand what most of my family listen to, such as Motown, Classic Country, Funk & Soul, what all hit MTV's TRL, YouTube music hits, etc. What music likes & dislikes are yours?

I will listen to anything really, I do have a few preferences but I can get into any style of music. The only thing I don't really like is screamo, I do like metal though, and a good scream can be wonderful for an emotional moment, but I don't like it when it's every single lyric. You gotta have some sort of melody otherwise it's just noise.

i mainly love Jazz, Latin, Funk, Classical, J-pop, Hiphop, Metal, Rock, and sometimes Country. I like electrical when it's done right (by that i mean it has an actual melody i can hum to).

I have a strong preference towards music that focuses on instrumentals rather than vocals. As such I am much more likely to listen to a video game or movie soundtrack, or classical music over anything else.

I'm actually a guitar player so for the most part, I'll listen to Metal and Hardcore, but I can generally listen to anything as long as the vocals are good.

All music genres, even most intense vaporwave. >The only thing I particularly don't enjoy is when a artist gets basic. Example: Most artist in the mariachi/reggaetón gets too boring way to quickly. Maybe up to the point of irritation. Reason: Majority of the artists use the same boring beats, lyrics, and themes. That get so repetitive, its almost as if I'm listening to the same song. Funny thing is I speak Spanish, I am American/Cuban. So I understand what they're spitting out. There is a reason why most Mexican stereotypes are depicted with the same song, its because they refuse to change up that same song formula. I swear to god, they always brag about in their lyrics about being in a famous cartel almost 75% of the time. Don't even get me started with reggaetón, the song of my people. Its absolute garbage most of the time. Its gotten so bad that they use a super annoying beat that's attached to every song like cancer. Oh man how untalented hacks make it big, by putting zero effort. Fun fact 95% of the lyrics of this genre is just exclusively about f*cking. I am ashamed of my race, because of this music genre. Sample A: Lyrics: UP, DOWN, and SLOW. https://youtu.be/XA2ZGsqeI-0 This song, is SHIT! Worst "sound" I put my poor ears through. Sure there are good mariachi/reggaetón, but oh man they are tough to find. I Love vaporwave as genre, but its because its so diverse that you got a variety of themes. You got the original, mall soft, virtual utopia, future funk, ironic vaporwave, and more. Diversity in music is what makes music fun period. Well for me. Samples of vaporwave diversity. Sample B: https://youtu.be/NzTzGWWKevA Sample C: https://youtu.be/hjbZyXod3mc Sample D: https://youtu.be/hK4pt3tf1xk Now that's, some diversity!
