Rent a Boyfriend/Girlfriend

dakoya
(Too many toxic threads as of late, so I thought I'd add some better ones) This is a common thing in Asian countries, especially China, S.Korea and Japan. If it was a service where you lived, would you use it? What about being a rental boyfriend/girlfriend yourself? Any other thoughts you'd have? (Safety concerns, rules - no kissing?, etc...)

I've heard about it, it's strangely interesting. I don't think it would be something I'd use myself because heck, I don't even rent movies and games ^^' I'm not sure what I'm getting into but I'd try become a rental at least just for once. I'm not sure what I'm getting out of it, I mean there's money but it must be so weird to date so many people overtime. Does it fulfill my being?? Does it make me feel guilty of profiteering off people's loneliness?? Will I become paranoid that one of my "clients" could become a stalker?? But it has a definitive positive effect because a lot of people (especially in Japan) are single and lonely and it seriously affect their morale and productivity, they might have no self-esteem at all, they're depressed, etc. so if it can help anyone, it's always good right? As for "rules" I know some girlfriend service is just hand holding and nothing else, staring in each other's eyes while smiling, lying down in the same bed... those would be super boring and awkward imo. I might laugh out loud too ^^' No sex or conversations of sexual nature, no kissing but a tiny smooch on the hand is really cute, no groping, no adding on social media. Hm... not exchanging private or personal information. Like, if someone wanna tell me they're stressed out from work because this and that and their boss/coworkers sucks, that's fine. If they're sad because grandma passed away, that's fine too. I mean, we're not an actual couple and we're not an actual person in the other's life, it shouldn't get too involved, if that make sense. As I see it, it's just helping out someone's loneliness and boredom by accompanying them, having them go out and have fun when they have a hard time doing so, have some minimal physical contact, etc. I do wonder though, if someone brings you on a date, who is supposed to pay? Do they need to pay for the restaurant if they're already paying for your good company? Sounds kinda expensive in the long run.

I think it could be helpful to some people as long as they don't go over the line. I think more similar services for older people would be even more appreciated. As you get older, the world tends to forget about you. Also not many people want to get to know someone who could die the next day. It's sad, but kind of true. @cupcakerin I'd agree that this would be quite an expensive service. As such, it probably wouldn't be that successful outside of Asian countries.

Well fuck. I thought this was an offer.

@cancer_hime Kakakaka, well I'm sure there are plenty of guys and gals who would be interested to provide you w/ that service on here. Especially guys.. ~_~... but you may have to pay some of the girls *cough cough* I also realized that the thread sounded like an offer after I had created it xD.

@Muggleborn Cheeto If you don't mind being a trap, I think you would get plenty of offers from men on the site.

@Neverland, I'm more of a tea person myself thank you. I'll let you keep the women. Coming back to the thread, it just sounds like a very elaborate way of flushing your money down the toilet. As @cupcakerin said super expensive. If you're going down this route I'm assuming you have time and money to spare. Spend the time getting therapy, meet family and friends. Take the money, treat yourself or philanthropy. (p.s. I'm aware that people may not have close friends/family. Don't point that loophole out... don't point the other loopholes out, I'm always right) It's just a tad bit sad . The only reason why such things have come into being is because so many people are convinced that finding a life companion is their sole purpose. Sure, humans are social creatures but there's more to companionship than just a significant other. @Baka I'm sending screenshots of this to trash chan. INFIDELITY INFIDELITYYYYYYYYYY :o
