@auntron_ aw thats good to hear! it sounds like a really kool hobby xD
well it depends, and i guess pragmatism would also come into it.
Some lab grown meat was cultivated using fetal calf tissues, which I would be against because an animal was harmed in its making. This doesn't go for all fake meat, however, and it can be argued that it's still morally acceptable if we look at it from a harm reduction stance, but it would still not be vegan considering there are perfectly harmless fake meat options.
Interest fact, Impossible meat is not vegan. They tested it on animals (whatever that even means?) because you have to test on animals in China, and they also put cheese on some burgers at this vegan convention and lied and told them it was vegan cheese, which is just a dick move. Impossible meat is purely a novelty created so carnists can try it and be like "whoa!", Beyond is the better option if you want hyper realistic fake meat options as it is completely vegan.

That’s a good perspective, I appreciate your knowledge on this. Honestly, lab grown meat always seemed kinda weird to me XD, but I’m optimistic about its benefits, however if animals are harmed in its making then I’m on your side with that one. I’m looking forward to when we get to a point someday where animals no longer have to suffer, I’m hoping lab grown meat is an Avenue for this. It’s more likely this would help progress that, as I know a lot of people don’t want to go vegetarian/vegan.
Thank god it’s not beyond, I love beyond burgers. A little smoked paprika, some garlic salt, and bam a good burger (^^). I can’t believe they did that with cheese like that, that’s so gross :/. I mean, I’m still a vegetarian, but I can imagine how horrible that must have been. I had vegan sushi once and the sauce on the side wasn’t vegan/vegetarian which was gross :/.

@auntron_ i can see how labgrown meat can seem weird, its a new concept, and i actually saw an article (just skimmed it though xD) that says that labgrown meat takes a lot of money to create, 10k per pound i believe? so its going to be in the far future that we see it begin to become common place.
yeah veganism is truly the future, because most carnists would rather not harm animals, so if theyr given an option i truly think they will take the more ethical choice (plus it is healthier, not by much xD but still the better option) and if they dont care about animals, im sure the environmental impact would be enough to sway them as well.
oh youv had beyond?? i dont think iv tried it yet D: fake meats are pricey, especially the good ones like beyond xD good to hear its good! i gotta try it sometime (ill keep those spices in mind!) and yeah, impossible never cared about veganism, they just wanted money theyd get from making a "weird" burger.
what kinda sauce was it?

Yeah the price will definitely hold it back for a while, but I’m sure like with all things once the technology catches up it’ll be cheap enough to do. And yeah I guess it is weird because it’s a new concept XD, I suppose I just am so comfortable with a vegetarian lifestyle that going back to meat wouldn’t feel right lol.
I think veganism is the future as well, but I don’t know how many omnivores would jump on the vegan train. Yes people are more compassionate than they let on, and wouldn’t want to hurt animals, but they don’t see farm animals the same way that we do due to dissociation, they think their pet is somehow more special when it’s not. Of course, I’m not one to judge anyone, it’s their lifestyle, I make my choice about my diet and they can make theirs. I know personally I feel that if we don’t need meat to survive then there’s no point in eating it for most people. But I digress…
Haha it’s not super expensive lol, I mean yeah $6 for two patties is a bit much, but sometimes it’s worth it. I’ve spent $6 on dumber stuff before haha. Yeah, if you have some substitute for butter that you like I’d recommend using that in a pan with the spices I talked about, and it comes out so good. I like thousand island with mine, but I’m pretty sure that contains egg… so if you know some vegan alternative I’d recommend it haha :3. It’s really good though, I highly recommend it. I felt weird eating it at first because it tasted like the real deal lol… but oddly better :P. Yeah, impossible products are weird alright XD. I’m so happy I never used them.
It was eel sauce ;-;, there wasn’t any label or anything on it. I shoulda known better, I also used to eat starbursts too till I found out they had gelatin XP. Over the years I’ve grown more careful and have a pretty good idea of what I should and shouldn’t eat :3 haha.

@hell_hound7 you keep saying that the vaccines don't work, but that is easily proven false
care to substanciate that?

How is that wrong? Literally it has been proven by scientists that certain variants can still be passed even once vaccinated. The fact people are also managing to die negates the whole "it only lessens the symptoms not grants immunity" argument

@hell_hound7 we'll use the seatbelt argument
seatbelts wont save you 100% of the time, but you use one anyways because it protects you most of the time

Bro seatbelts are designed to stop you from going flying out of your car and that it does. That excuse is so tiring. This was designed with the intent to stop covid from killing people and it doesnt do that.

Think about it. Seatbelts stop you from going through your windshield and it does that. Airbags are to cushion the impact. That still doesnt stop your brain from rattling after being hit at x miles per hour. Your car gets crushed and your organs might be along with it. This excuse isnt good enough

"The Purpose of Seatbelts
Seatbelts are designed to retain people in their seats, and so prevent or reduce injuries suffered in a crash. They ensure that as little contact is made between the occupant and vehicle interior as possible and significantly reduce the risk of being thrown from a vehicle."
Ripped right off of google. Seatbelts do their job, covid vaccine doesnt. Come up with a better excuse next time.
