@hell_hound7 I just admitted I would eat human meat if it was ethically sourced xD. I have eaten those dehydrated cricket things (they taste like peanuts), and insects are great sources of protein and will probably replace meat alongside lab grown meat. I assume you would expect me to say I wouldn't because I think their gross, but on what grounds would I consider them gross? As long as they are dehydrated and sanitary (and sprinkled with some cheese dust preferably) and are ethically sourced, there isn't anything wrong with eating insects. What makes me cringe in disgust is seeing the cut up corpses of animals, because I know they wanted to live. Now, if we're talking freegans who live off shit like road kill, I'm fine with it. So lets try and get back on the trail of the argument. You think it's ethically ok to eat animals because they eat other animals? But doesn't that contradict your dog exception? Dogs will also eat other animals, or maul them for fun.

I'd eat dog, just saying... Not really part of the "debate". Never a pet, mind you...unless I was in dire straights. No critter wants to die, not even a bug. Can't really say bugs are "ethically" sourced or "humanly" killed, either. Protein is protein, yo.

Believe it or not, most insects are ethically sourced. Unlike other animals, you can just wait for insects to naturally die and they are just as edible. Most only live a few months anyways, and because their sentients is so minimal, you don't have to worry tooo much about their living conditions (it shouldnt be bad, but it doesn't have to be as creative as other animals) They also take up much fewer resources and land, so environmentally it's also a good alternative. The only issue would be whether or not it's considered vegan, and I would say yes, considering veganism is not a diet, but an ethical lifestyle.

You cannot eat random bugs, most of these bugs you are being fed are farm grown. If you eat wild bugs you will get parasites. Thats why you dont feed your pets wild bugs.

Lol who said you could xD? Parasites aren't your biggest issue with eating wild bugs, but poisoning and bacteria. Anyways, please respond to my rebuttle. So lets try and get back on the trail of the argument. You think it's ethically ok to eat animals because they eat other animals? But doesn't that contradict your dog exception? Dogs will also eat other animals, or maul them for fun.

I never said you couldnt eat dogs, i said i didnt want to eat dogs. Its a personal preference. If you cant accept that as an answer then this conversation ends here. There really is nothing more i can say beyond that you have asked me this like 4 times and i responded the same everytime.

@hell_hound7 Personal preference isn't a justification for immortal activities. You have to tell me the reasons behind these personal preferences if you want to defend them. You said that its humane to kill and eat animals that kill and eat others, but that goes to dogs as well, so why are you averse to eating dogs? My bfs dog once mauled a group of ducklings for fun. So why are dogs protected under your personal umbrella of "friend animal" when they are also under your other umbrella of "immoral animals"?

Because i dont wanna eat them? I named off a list of animals i do not wish to eat. Out of all those animals i consider only one in the friend category. What i would find immoral is irrelevant, because this is a personal attack at me to try and bait me saying i find it immoral. Yet this wouldnt work for someone WHO DOES EAT DOGS. Thats why its irrelevant. Me not wanting to do it doesnt make it any less immoral than someone who doesnt care and sees food as food.
