Unless they changed it again, it is supposed to be a sequel.

When I first saw it, I thought it was a season 3. But after a few looks, it seems like it's a movie only. I'd like to see what happened to the characters in the show after Lelouch's death.

I'm pretty sure its a movie sequel to the series, unless they changed it again....
