To be fair, I'd say most if not all black people don't care for Al Sharpton at all. It's really irritating that he even has a platform to talk because nobody but non-black people even consider him a leader for the community. He's just a shit-stirrer that thrives off of controversy instead of actually pushing for real changes and the level of ignorance he displays is almost like he wants to just perform the whole "whitey raciss" act to the max without adding anything constructive to the whole 'race talk' Honestly he's basically doing his own modern minstrel show and it's a shame. Since he's done nothing but confirm this narrative that all blacks do is "play the race card". I honestly wish he would just retire from all media so he'd stop undermining the very real pleas and concerns of black people.

^I cannot heart that comment enough

Sadly people are still all too willing to use him for their own gains. I heard not that long ago there was a politician that thanked him because they couldn't have made it as far without him or something like that.

Alright, so. Daggerfella. I actually did read your post, and watched your videos, and it seems to me that you (And a lot of people) are still operating on misconceptions meant to divide us as a country. Again, since you didn't read my post, a large chunk of it has to do with how I once fell for a lot of these misconceptions myself, regarding feminism. I'll keep it short this time. What people think feminists/SJWs are: (Not saying they don't exist) https://images.genius.com/1f5aa4956ca5e68cc5ace12421985ac8.502x493x1.jpg Why people maintain this illusion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSmDq5Czae0 What we actually are like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rc24YtUslCU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWwiUIVpmNY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xWJf8cERoM Now then. I've been sick in bed all day and off my meds, so I think I'll turn in early.

Eh, can't really blame you for that. We all skim posts. Just giving you a hard time. XD But yeah it's pretty easy to take things out of context with her. Though Contrapoints doesn't ever say "Label all of them fascists". She talks about how to identify them, and in the same video, also admits that since the right is swaying more and more right, that it can be very easy to mislabel someone as a fascist who isn't. Because fascists are really good at rebranding themselves and infiltrating different groups. So yeah, they WOULD say they aren't fascist. And you know who else says that? People who aren't fascists. Modern Fascists in the US use various dog whistles and esoteric signs to discreetly signal each other in order to conceal themselves, and create plausible deniability when called out. They use their echo chambers rather efficiently in order to do so. So if you're actually trying to identify a fascist, you don't focus on what's being said or the words that are being used. You need to focus on what the message is doing. Because for white nationalists and fascists, free speech is ultimately a tool for recruitment and garnering sympathy from people who aren't them. And they will always try to paint the opposition as "The real fascists." Like Antifa. Oh boi, they're so violent! You know, despite.. This being a thing? https://img.huffingtonpost.com/asset/594d0e9a1500001f008ffd2c.png ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Sources: https://apps.revealnews.org/homegrown-terror/ https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/domestic-terrorism-white-supremacists-islamist-extremists_us_594c46e4e4b0da2c731a84df ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ (Also, side note, antifa is not strictly a leftist "group", it's more of an anti-authoritarian philosophy. I know a few libertarians and republicans who swim in the antifa ocean. And none of them have ever "bashed the fash".) Please note though, I do believe even fascists have a right to speak. Lots of us do. And we also have a right to expose how they're exercising that right. It doesn't strip them of it. It merely informs people. By the way, in case you're wondering. This is what white nationalist dog whistling actually looks like. Again, pay attention to the subtext of what he's implying. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c59/Rubberpenguin/Other/Screen%20Shot%202018-12-10%20at%202.52.24%20PM.png https://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c59/Rubberpenguin/Other/Screen%20Shot%202018-12-10%20at%202.54.13%20PM.png http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c59/Rubberpenguin/Other/Screen%20Shot%202018-12-10%20at%202.47.29%20PM.png Now is Neootaku a fascist or white nationalists? I dunno. He might just be a real good troll who knows the red flags to trigger in order to bate out "People like me". I sure didn't think to look for them at the time though. It was only when he said this where I started getting suspicious, and started to look closer to what he was saying through a more careful lens. https://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c59/Rubberpenguin/Other/Screen%20Shot%202018-12-10%20at%203.03.08%20PM.png In short: Yes, I use antifa tactics to identify and counter manipulate. Yes, I'm SJW. I do believe the alt right has a right to speak, and I do believe that exposing what they're doing is also free speech. Ultimately though, we need to be careful not to fall for traps such as overgeneralizing people or buying into wild conspiracy theories that undermine anyone's message. SJW are not rich people trying to feel good about ourselves, we're people trying to make a difference. None of us are above criticism. Some of us are flat wrong. Some of us are toxic. And some of us are don't know what the hell we're talking about, half the time. Is that the problem of an ideology? Hell naw. Does treating everyone within that ideology like they're the toxic feminazi types ultimately devalue, dehumanize, and dismiss those of us who are actively trying to fix things in the world? Yes. Heck, I think there are fascists who aren't irredeemable. And closing dialogue with them just because they're fascist is to deny a chance to reach out to them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VM6HZqQKhok

1: While we're on the subject of gas lighting, do you know what coentelpro is? If you don't, go ahead. Do some research. Look up what it is, how it's used, and what kinda groups its used against. Now take a decentralized movement like antifa. Boy, isn't a group like that easy to infiltrate? Just wear black, put on a mask, insight people to bash some windows, and get into fights. Let the news cameramen zoom in on you like they're trained to do, and bam. The rest takes care of itself. Not sure if that's what's happening, but we do need to watch out for that stuff. Considering they haven't actually killed anyone yet though, I'm kinda glad to have them between us and the people who drive cars into us. 2: Perhaps I need to explain something in greater detail, because I think you missed something in how fascists are really good at infiltrating groups. The reason they do this? Because when someone calls them out for being fascist, they can turn to their friends in similar alt right groups, (the proud boys, and the oath keepers, ect) and be like "Look, they're calling us nazis!" That's how you build your base. You make them feel victimized for being "like you". Common manipulation tactic. For example, remember gamer gate? About 70-80% of them weren't sexist. 30-20%? Yeah, they were absolutely. And they used the rest of these guys as a shield while espousing some rather harmful ideas. 3: The republican party and the democratic party are both moving further from the middle, and have been for a while now. The republicans more so. Norman Ornstein, a political scientist, (centrist) has been tracking this for a while now. So I notice New York Times isn't on your blacklist. Here. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/02/opinion/sunday/republicans-broke-congress-politics.html Or PBS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwQsVcAHogo 4: Wow, great conspiracy theory you have there. No, antifa isn't an authoritarian organization. The fact that you call it an organization at all shows you really do not know much about it. Here. When you get the chance, (Wouldn't force you to watch all of it right now, cause it's an hour long) watch it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgwS_FMZ3nQ 5: Capitalism isn't an enemy to the american way of life. You heard me say it. What is a problem is when the money at the top stagnates. A healthy capitalist society cannot exist like that. Nobody is going to beat you up for saying otherwise though. 6: Meh. I'll throw you a bone here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D71bwVKWxRE 7: You know, truth be told, I appreciate this thread. Gives us a chance to actually swap these views. Gives me things to watch out for in my outlets, and I hope you take something away from my viewpoints as well.
