Whatcha doin?!?

So I got a random knock at my door from people I had not spoken to for over 15 years. I greet them cordially, but I can tell they have a solemn look as if some tragedy had befallen the land. Asking what brought them by after not having any dialog for so long they tell me, "We just wanted to say sorry about your parents' passing. It is a shame because they were such wonderful people." I don't say anything being confused and mildly curious to know where this is going. "In these tough times it just seemed right to check on how you were. When are you having the funeral or had it already happen?" At this time I make a point to put them at ease that my parents were in fact still alive. "Oh! My gosh, well I guess the local gossip got it all wrong then. Be sure to tell them hello for me and I hope your wife is well too. Did the kids enjoy their Christmas?" I smile. "Sure did! I will tell the wife you were thinking about us when she gets home, thanks." Waved them good-bye, closed the door and went back to watching anime like the single man I am lol!
