As much as I been keeping up with the Kavanaugh hearings and peeping through this thread - should I even Napalmicide such a battlefield thread. I won't but ... One would think when half the country loses their shit over an accusation with more holes in the stories than swiss cheese and NO hard evidence or anything solid at all that its reasonable to think that legitimate rape victims / victims of sexual assault and the like are afforded support from someone somewhere. Whether or not this support reaches the individual is a different discussion. However the loss of the concept of due process and innocent until proven guilty is very strong in these type of cases. If these same things were happening to a black man Obama nominated to be a SCOTUS justice just how quick and overwhelmingly every media outlet, democrat, leftist, BLM, antifa etc would cry racist even if there was actual evidence and a solid claim. There is a BIG GIGANTIC HUGE difference between "victims of rape/sexual assault deserve to be taken seriously and believed" "someone came forward with a claim of rape/sexual assault therefore it must have happened there is no other explanation or other possibility" Unfortunately due to things like the duke lacrosse incident it is fair and required that questions be asked of a victim who comes forward in order to substantiate a legitimate claim. Just going "she said she was raped it clearly happened any questions just victimize her further like raping her again" is just wrong. Does it create more trauma - yeah it probably does. That doesn't make it wrong or immoral either since it is equally wrong to just ruin someones life over an *accusation*.

I don't know why people keep bringing up the fact that the guy is a comedian, does having a certain profession automatically make any political opinions you may have invalid and/or not worth hearing? If that's the case why should we pay any mind to anyone in this forum's opinions? Don't be surprised when you get pushback after saying things like that, doesn't really make people want to take your case seriously. :u Though I do see why some people would instantly dismiss that and bring that person's credibility into play, I can also see why others would pushback on that dismissal. Especially considering it doesn't really seem like Kichigai was linking that video as some sort of argument like "hah, here's why all of you are wrong!1!1!" or something, seemed more like he just linked something he happened to be watching that was relevant to the topic.

Okay teacup, you lost me on so many levels in that post. When I say "Rape victims receive moral support from peers", I mean that if someone who has been raped goes into a court and proves with a sufficient amount of evidence that she has been raped, people would tend to be sympathetic towards them. Are you saying this isnt true? If so, PLEASE explain to me how this isnt fucking true. I would LOVE to see you try and prove that MOST people in the US would instead ridicule an individual for being raped with evidence of the incident taking place. Maybe I could have worded my sentence better, but I thought given all that I have said in this thread that I know that people wouldn't blindly accept every rape allegation to be true and therefore it would not necessarily be true that she has an overwhelming amount of support when she initially accuses someone of rape/sexual assault. "but he has to know his facts correctly or else who the fuck would watch him?" YOU CANNOT JUST ASSUME THAT SINCE THEY HAVE A DECENT FOLLOWING THAT THEIR FACTS ARE CORRECT. HOLY SHIT. This is the problem that I have with a lot of liberals/feminists. Not only are they theoretically incorrect, because their philosophy and political theory is so fucking shallow, but they are also EMPIRICALLY wrong. First, the theoretical standpoint: Accurately reporting on stories isn’t what gives them money. These comedian's only goals are to give you content so that you’re watching the ads that pop up during their show. MIT did a study (if you really want me to, I can find it) and they found that stories that made people angry were more likely to gain popularity. They found it was because people got so angry at the story that they don’t bother to check on whether or not it’s true. This causes a chain reaction to start and suddenly they gain a shit ton of popularity. Therefore, covering poorly researched stories are actually beneficial to these shows. Because they gain a lot more attention and, as a result, they make more money. As for the empirical side of things, have you heard of Infowars? They are a Right-winged outlet which doesn't cover anything other than fake right-winged conspiracy theories. Yet they had a TREMENDOUS following (I remember checking about a year ago and they were over 1 million subscribers on youtube, but I think they got banned from the platform for the type of stuff they were sharing). Another example is Steven Crowder. He's a conservative with over 2.6 million subscribers on youtube. However, he doesnt know shit about anything. There are so many other examples to prove that what you are saying isnt true. God Damn. You are wrong about everything.

Damn straight Mio. It's this "believe victims just because" shit that's unacceptable. Thankfully some politicians are growing balls and are now just waving these psychos off. https://youtu.be/j2OhYg3WnV4 If one has evidence, bring it. Don't just expect everyone to bow to them then get violently angry when they don't. Honestly punishment needs to be put in place for those who falsely accuse others. It's time the book is thrown at the liars and make an example out of a few of them. No more light sentences for those who attempt to ruin the lives of innocent people.

But Mio that’s support from a court/People that are just there or have watched not from the social stratasphere which Teacup was talking about. Most people are petty and only supportive in the moment. If a person accused of rape has to wait till for ever to get the dirt stain of their name if ever then the actual Rape victim has it on their name for ever immediately on their mind. The argument being made is on stress and the mental state not just get arbitrary support which your talking about, not everyone can have their case publicized either (And if it was especially if they don’t have the mental fortitude atm they wouldn’t be able to provide a case properly if said individual was mentally distraught). Yes there are some cases of leftist blasting cases on the news and social media but a lot of them are big names. All the smaller cases and other things go under the rug and you never hear about them unless you go looking hard and you won’t hear anything till someone says something or your in some immediate area. The break down here is Teacup is arguing for anecdotal, which you can even confirm through observation. Usually when people find out about things or hear things about another person their petty and quick to judge and demean the other. Just how humans are on both sides of the spectrum and your arguing based off the recency and potentiality which dagger seems to be a case of it. In today’s current world starting from 2016 and the #MeToo movement yes a lot of men became underfire both good and bad and a lot of political uproar has happened. The things your talking about have been slowly building up and didn’t take flight till the #MeToo . The reason you can make your arguments is because this is the current state of things on the internet, Hollywood, colleges, and Polticial etc. in juxtaposition to what TeaCup and others have said. Teacup isn’t wrong from her Anecdotal standpoint, I’m sure if you did some digging you’ll find similar cases and most likely support wasn’t from randoms, where as what you said applies to a broader spectrum. On the Trevor Noah note or even the news they do their best to hit emotional triggers.
