What's your absolute favorite anime?

We've all got it I'm sure. That one show/movie that just sticks out in your head. That screams or calls to you louder than any other. That one that, no matter how many times you watch it, you just can't say you're tired of it. Mine, as you can probably tell from my profile picture, is Wolf Children. Fantastic piece of work. Watched it so many times, but even when I go back and rewatch it, I still start to tear up around the end, which I have no intention of spoiling for anyone here. So, what's yours?

For me it has been Death Note, then Code Geass . All the twists prevents me from guessing what will happen the next episode. But after i watched hunter x hunter my reflection changed. There isn't such txits in HxH so i could have guessed what will happen the next episode but i never even tried. I was too immersed in the story, just wanting to "live" the story as i watched. And for me it's a really well balanced manga. It have light talk/Chill moments, and the exact opposite real drama. The mains protagonists are kids and they act like it, but at the same time they need to deal with really serious crisis, physicaly and internaly. Also the evolution of the characters is well brought. It's certainly for this reason that HxH is the only "long" anime i watched till the end. But before anything it's the feeling i got, kinda returned in chillhood, simply wanting to see the next episode. Honorable mention to GTO and Samurai Champloo tho.

Made In Abyss I have never felt so anguished for a character in my life. I knew they were going to face obstacles, but it's so much more painful than I espected to watch them suffer. This is the show that made me cry the most and also made me the most happy. Everything can go so wrong so fast in their world, but it's so beautiful at the same time! The main character want to meet her mother so much that she goes through all the dangers and the worst is, I think she knows she will probably die before accomplishing anything. The chances that she gets back home alive are... she's not comming back is she... (╥_╥) https://nefariousreviews.files.wordpress.com/2017/11/made-in-abyss-featured.jpg?w=672&h=372&crop=1

There's no way I could choose one.

Honestly I'd say Space Battleship Yamato 2199. It really struck a cord with me in a lot of ways.

@Tri Tri : I also loved Darker than black. Did you watch Ryuusei no Gemini? I didn't like the that season as much.
