Yeah ik everyone is tired of hearing suggestions on how to fix the site, but just hear me out.
Obviously people complain about the match system being inadequate. Whether the problem stems from matches being inactive, them not being ur type, or just not replying to you at all.
Why not make the match system a bit better? Obviously the type of anime you have seen doesnt describe the type of person you are. So why dont we get a questionnaire that helps match people up that way? That way we get a match system that actually helps the community out and do what the website was intended for!
Im not pushing this all on seph. No, no sephy is busy man. I feel like MO should come up with some cool questions and stuff to match people with. This way the dont get people who join the site snd leave because they are frustrated the dating aspect isnt working.
-------------------TLDR--------------
should MO get a matching system based on a questionnaire?
Serious inquiries/ideas only. Again this is for you guys so take it serious.

I think the whole anime matching was a way for people to talk about something that they know or has taken interest into.
But like you said, there are more factors to finding love than simply have animes that you seen together.
I agree with Matching based on questionnaire (personalities and hobbies). It has to have a "random element" where some people might be interested in trying new activities inspired by other people, or a personality that can match well with yours despite not having it.

This is still one of the more "active" anime-specific dating sites out there, but it's really up to the webmaster to spend the time upgrading it. You've got so many dating site and app choices out there nowadays in a very flooded market, so unless someone is specifically looking for a site like this, they may not ever find it.
You've also got a lot of people treating this site more like an anime-fan facebook than an actual dating site, people very spread out including internationally, a typical dating-site hurdle of a lopsided ratio of guys to girls, as well as a wide age range of people joining including minors.
I know some people have found a relationship, but don't go into it expecting to necessarily find the love of your life on here. Unless you live in a very populous state like CA, TX, FL, or NY your chances of finding someone compatible who even lives within a few hours drive of where you are is kinda low. You just have to have realistic expectations or this site can leave you very frustrated.

Honestly i do get that its up to the owner of the site to upgrade it however he sees fit. But this is just a minor suggestion that wouldnt really stray too far from what he has already established. Im not asking him to change the site layout or anything, merely use what is already there and make it better.
As far as where this "questionaire" would be located....i say add it as a feature in the "matches" or "search" section. That way it isnt really grabbing too much attention away from the way things already work around here and would encourage those who came here specifically for an anime dating site to find just that.
The site as it stands is merely just a forum to post random junk and talk with fellow otaku. the dating aspect however feels neglected. (Yes ik he has made changed to matches and now it shows fairly active members) but aside from that the site is very much "throw yourself to the wolves" or in this case forums and hope someone takes notice. Not everyone on here has the luxary of being popular or fitting in and that chases quite a few people away.
Granted not everyone will find love on here, or even get the attention they are looking for. But rather than have a million and one lurkers on the site sliding in the dms of every girl to see if they have a shot. Why not make it to where you can actually find someone with a common interest and save yourself half the pain.
---------------TLDR----------
Came for the dating, stayed for the lulz. We want people to actually come to the site as a reliable source for otaku dating and stay cuz it did just that.
