Border Control

Since it's such a hot topic as of the moment, I want to hear the overall consensus of you all on it. Right now, specifically America. Your opinions on how it's being treated, how it will affect our society, and whether or not it's correct. If you find it to be incorrect, explain why, and what could be a better system. Also, as Always, Let's all keep things civilized. So I'll start with my own. Personally, I know that America has one of the more soft on punishment for breaking our borders, even compared to our neighbors, such as Canada or Mexico. I am completely against Open borders, due to the affects it has had on countries such as the UK or Sweden, and that's ignoring the economic crisis it would do. While I'm not one to enjoy children being taken from their parents, You can make the argument that all criminals are split up from their children. Which that is what it is, whether you agree with it or not, Being an Illegal Alien, is infact Well illegal. (That said, I do believe we should be putting a larger effort in returning children to their parents, if they aren't being put in any sort of jail.) Personally, I think this is all just exaggerated. Especially those that compare it to the Holocaust(if not insulting to compare it to that.). But Differing views is always a good thing.

There are punishments for breaking laws. For all the people that follow the law of wanting to come here to the US it is a slap in the face for others to think they can simply just cross over and get in for free. Politicians can try and change the words used (undocumented migrant and such) but you are breaking the law and there are here "illegally". And all the times people talk about the rights of the migrants..... they are not citizens. So as harsh as it sounds, they don't get the same rights that all citizens of the US get. I could go on about this, but will leave it at that.
