Welp, incoming back and forth debate about gun control on the news for the next few weeks. I don't think giving people more guns or taking away people's guns is going to solve anything. Unfortunately this is an issue that obviously has something to do with our society and how we treat people as a whole, people don't just suddenly go insane and start shooting up public places simply because they had a history of mental illness. This person was more than likely another person who was just ignored, slipped through the cracks, and was just allowed to go untreated for years. I bet you when there's more information about this kid, you'll hear a bunch of obvious red flags in his behaviors from interviews of people who knew him and/or were close to him. Hell, they probably didn't even need to be put on meds or anything. They could have only just needed someone there to acknowledge them as a person and their struggles. All it takes is a little bit of kindness to steer isolated people with anti-social behaviors out of the path of self-destruction and harming others, it might not immediately produce results but that type of stuff would matter a lot to someone like that. Too bad for a large majority of people, that kindness is something that's impossible. They're too self-centered to even consider the idea of life in the shoes of another person, they'd rather just demand for people experience life through THEIR shoes when they have hard times but never extend the gesture to others. Which is precisely why we'll never get out of this cycle of arguing about fucking "solutions" that are just a bandaid that will do nothing but cause more issues than it solves, history shows us just how stupid turning a blind eye to social issues and trends is but people seem to just act fucking clueless until the boot of reality kicks in their door and shoves itself up their asses. And the only solutions they seem to be able to think of to dislodge said boot from their ass are always very simple ones, which tells you a lot about how much they actually think about the bigger picture. :u

This will sound harsh, but do you think the Mainstream Media could possibly be another contributing factor in all of this? After watching this video below, I got me thinking do they really encourage the unhappier people of society to do this? Watch the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3VQULyT390

He lived in a boring area. Kinda like my cousin he lived in the country with his mom and he became a killer now he's in jail for life.

A sick mind is a sick mind. It doesn't matter what you show it, it's gonna commit that crime. I can't blame violent video games or movies for what people do. And the whole world can't comply to some sick fucks just so their wicked thoughts aren't stimulated. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cTdkxcFxr4

But, we can/should have security guards, metal detectors and be more vigilant about things said via social media. I mean, government buildings have high security, why not public "aka government run" (I only mention public because private can't be forced to change like that) schools? I'd pay a little more on my taxes if it meant kids/teachers could feel safer going to school.

School Resource Officers seem to be having a good track record of stopping shootings. At least when they don't cower away like that scum did in Parkland.

John, don't you think having such drill simulations would actually encourage copycat mentality people? xD And they'd know exactly how to counter the drill protocol haha
