Not really as I wouldn't mind if my girlfriend was in an otaku or not as long as she is willing to respect my interest and not look at me as if I was a child or a freak

Nope as long as they are fine with me being one. If they shun anime or gaming or anything they aren't that nice a person. Everyone has different interests.

Yes, it is, I have literally nothing else to talk about aside from games, writing stories, and art.

I would hope they would like anime, or could at least think the art is cute. But it's not a requirement.

as long as we can respect, relate, and properly communicate, that is all that matters.

It doesn't bother me. I've dated both people who liked anime and people who didn't. Really it doesn't change anything, we never really watched it together or talked about it all that much and that was fine because I was dating a person, not a glorified anime encyclopedia. In the long run, if it's a serious relationship with someone you truly love, anime comes so far down the list. (Unless you're a complete addict of course!)

it would be cool if they where because then we could go to cons together/watch anime together but if they are not into anime then that is also fine as long as we share other interests and they are respectful of me liking anime then its all good
