We are neither magical nor broken. Just different. Even comparing one autistic person to another is still some differences. Not everyone is autistic. If you think I'm wrong, then do they have very sensitive bodies, pattern thinking, visual thinking, obsessive interests, intuition and other autistic traits? And aren't you forgetting to say everyone has other disorders like psychosis, Down syndrome, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, PTSD, ADD/ADHD, OCD, selective mutism, dyslexia, panic attacks, etc., etc.?

@meisterman1985 I could actually vouch for that viewpoint, as ADHD has a lot of crossover traits with autism. Hell, I can come across as downright aspy, even when I am mediated. That and the tendency to want to over-explain things because of how nonlinear my thought patterns are, and how that manifests in verbal dialogue, making it easy to be misinterpreted. Yeah, lots of personality disorders that affect basic communication skills manifest that way. But I worked with someone at my previous job who had fairly low functioning autism, and the way I'm able to discern that I have ADHD and not Autism generally has more to do with how we react to new situations. While we both get tunnel vision when laser focusing on a task, I could get pulled from a job and get set in a brand new environment doing something I've never done before. Especially if its something like keeping conveyer belts clear and fixing jams, since its tied more to multiple things going on at once with minimal movement on my part. I might need to ask the same question over and over again, since I learn by doing rather than listening. But that had to be my favorite job ever, because of how easy it was on my heart. (My meds raise my heart rate.) Heck I was too good at the job, and the employers thought I was slacking off, so they put my coworker in there instead. Poor guy just looked like a deer in headlights, and I tried to explain to them that it was sensory overload, and that they needed to stick him where he was familiar at, but they always came back with "Well you just stand there and space out, so what's the difference?" The way I always perceived it was this. The difference between ADHD and Autism in terms of when their brains shut down, and leave them with the blank spacing out stare generally stems from where it comes from in the brain. Both are caused by the overprocessing of information in the brain, but its like Autistics are like very specialized software that does exactly what it advertises, but a lot of those extra features aren't quite as cleanly coded, so they are less adaptable. ADHD peeps just have too many apps open, and it bogs down the machine, so they shut down some of the apps to make multitasking a more feasible option. For example, when I was on the job, Shipping never had to come help me after I had everything down. They would hardly even hear the alarm, before I pounced on the problem. Even when it looked like I was sitting on a table with a pole and passively watching boxes go by. By the way, if anyone is curious to know what its like to have ADD, this channel does a better job at explaining it than I can. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNCDwUv_gkQ

Your score was 23 out of a possible 50. Scores in the 0-25 range indicate few or no Autistic traits.

And here's my score. Thought I'd be a little higher, given all that stuff I said about crossover traits. ^^;

I've seen a cat and dog carefully walk through a hallway without knocking things over. Sometimes I'm like a dog. Very anxious and alert about things going on. Cats are more similar to me. Very stable on certain objects, curious about roaming around risking their (nine) lives, loves watching birds, laid back, wants to be around anyone they know and love, notices even the tiniest things but gets painfully startled by bigger things. There's even TED Talk videos about how mysterious, but amazing cats are. https://youtu.be/Z0wHs5c7qSg https://youtu.be/i-xidNrWIXQ Here is also a manga-style video on how Autism is explained (English subtitles in Caption settings). When I struggle hard and so well, but never reach my goals, I get upset. My father and stepmother think my sensory overloads as immaturity and pitching a fit. They seem careless about my autistic traits and want me to unlabel it. https://youtu.be/5zhQMc_Pq8c
