Dine in or take out?!

Who else (when no other choice to cook your own food) prefer to order food as the take out instead of eating in the restaurant? When I'm traveling I don't have a chance to cook a real meal. 99% of the time I order my food to go because I feel weird/judged dining alone. In USA it seems that way to me. When I'm in Japan I'm so relaxed and at ease in restaurants there because it seems like everyone else there is eating alone too. I miss it. Sitting on a little stool shoulder to shoulder in a tiny cramped restaurant was neat. I didn't have to bring food into my hotel room and then find a dumpster around for the trash.

I always get it to go. I don't care how I might look eating alone there, I just rather eat in the comfort of my room watching anime or something.

I think eating at a restaurant is more of something you do together with someone else. Personally if I'm alone, I take the food home, too. Like Neeto, I like watching things in the comfort of my home while eating. With a partner or in a small group, eating at a restaurant is usually more fun. I can't comment on Japanese restaurants since I've never been in one.

Mm... depends on the type of restaurant for me. if it’s a cute little cafe and i’m having a small bite to eat then i don’t mind eating alone and enjoying the ambience. doubt anyone would think that’s strange. if a restaurant has a bar area then i feel like that’d be a fairly judgement-free place to be eating solo too.

i can never eat alone somewhere, way too awkward even if im with someone else i prefer take out, but on the rare occasion eating out is a nice treat

Take out. I don't like eating in public at all. I'm a piggy. I don't want people to see me eat a shit ton of food. It's awkward.
