Cowboy Bebop Live action movie?

We all heard the rumors, and believe me.. as an old time anime freak, the talk of creating Live action movies from anime has been going on for almost 20 years; It almost never happens. I remember hearing that they were thinking about making a Slayers movie. <p> After that horrible live action Dragon Ball movie.. now the possibility of creating a Cowboy Bebop is greatly increased. Which I think is all together wrong; but the talk is going on about Keanu Reeves as the lead role.. OOO god.. Keanu Reeves isn't a bad actor despite the shit he gets but dam... I just couldnt see him as Spike.. Comments?

I totally agree with hiphop! I saw the previews for the dragon ball movie and decided my brain wasn't going through that torture... If they're going to continue making anime live actions...THEY BETTER MAKE 'EM RIGHT! *gets off otaku shaped soap box* ... I'm juss sayin :P

The anime series is so good- that in my opinion there is no way they'll even come close to making a movie that's worth watching. It'll be so hard to capture the mood of the series you know? I agree about Keanu, nothing against him, but he does not scream Spike to me. If this movie does well then I for one will be pleasantly surprised.

i agree the movies never live up to the anime or video game good (terrible) examples are Final Fantasy Spirits Within every resident evil film (3 was so so) hitman, dragonball like hiphop said, and etc. the only exception is death note which was made in japan so... yeah. even non-anime xmen 1,2,3 sucked, spiderman okay, 1st hulk sucked, superman sucked, batman begins (ok that was pretty good) but u get my point :-) another thing is the cast, keanu reeves for spike. (no offense to neo and constantine)keanu im sorry but no, and who could they get to play ed i doubt there is an actor who could pull her off? who would play vicious?? julia??? i think anime should just be left as anime thats just my opinion so umm yeah like kitty im just sayin :P

One of my all time favourite's, Cowboy Bebop. I really, really, really, really hope that they just let this drop. I'm not saying I'm against the idea of a live action movie but they've pretty much all been terrible so far. After seeing Dragonball I felt like crying for three days and then erasing my childhood. I'd be up for it if it was done right but so far I've seen nothing to indicate the movie would be well made...no offence Keanu old horse but you just don't fit the bill for a classy adaptation of an old favourite.

I think we can all agree... that Keanu Reeves as Spike = HECK no!!<BR> Again, not that Matrix and Constantine weren't awesome movies, cuz they were, but I don't see Keanu pulling off what we know and love. Heck the American voice actors ~*~barely~*~ pulled that off IMHO.<BR> And Aaroniero has an excellent point..How are they going to get regular people to pull of the psychosis of the anime characters???<BR> That's like trying to do Outlaw Star in live action **shakes head**

You're right I didn't really need to parrot the whole no Keanu thing. Here's a question though, is there anyone in hollywood that all us fans would agree with?

Keanu is a great actor but it's alittle weird seeing him act as my favorite bounty hunter!(nothing against matrix) I just hope they have a good plot and maybe something involving Vicious! If this ends up like a certain movie that came out that destroyed my childhood this year, i'll really start crying.
