I believe LDR should have some different rules to work. Or at least talk about it to make things clear.
If you can't skype (or make anytime of voice+Camera chat), that will me hard. Everything it's way better with this kind of information.
Discuss if the relationship should be open or close. You life miles away without really lewd stuffs, maybe for some people is good to know that they need to fulfill their desire and can do it.
Start a relationship that you can keep. If for the beginning you know both of you don't wanna move from their country to another because of x or y stuffs, don't start.
Take a lot of photos and send too each other, this will help a lot to break the text routine.

While many would say LONG DISTANCE IS AS GREAT AS NORMAL. That only depends on the people. You need a few things to make a long distance relationship work.
1. Trust, This may go with all relationships but even more so with ldr. Seeing as you may not see each other often in person, you need to intimately trust this person integrity.
2. You need to have a plan, Whether it's simple as A-B-C. But without one you both may not see each other for years, which, leads to more likely the relationship failing. The sooner you can see each other the better, and even more so, CHOOSE WHOS MOVING. in the beginning. So there's no bitterness. The more you care about each other, the more initiative you'll show. Now I can understand money issues, But that's why you make a plan. It may be longterm, for months, it may even be a year. But you need to work on it together.
3. Make time for each other, even if one of you is losing sleep at times. You both need to make an effort to at least see each other once a week. I understand the feeling of being busy, But it's important, you both show effort to keep each other in your lives.
Now the whole mix racial thing. That's all just a preference. Nothing wrong, or right about it. Being a mixed race couple isn't a good thing, but neither is being a one race couple. It's just genetics. Like breasts or height. One should decide on their relationships in the end, on the personality of their partner, meaning if you have a good time together, ect(Of course that's not to say you shouldn't be attracted to them at all, You need to be. But I doubt anyone's expecting models.).
I can confidently say at least 80% of people in western civilization, doesn't care one bit about the race of a partner. But rather what they do.

i had one LDR, it didnt work... but i do think its possible if there is a good understanding between the couples. Honestly speaking i never thought of inter-racial as a problem, to say the truth i dont mind inter-species relationships either.. as long as you both love each other i think any barrier can be crossed.

I'm willing to consider a LDR if there's a realistic chance in the foreseeable future that we could be together. TBH, I'm looking to get the hell out of the miserable state of Florida as soon as I can, so I'm actually not looking for an IRL relationship before I do; doing so could shackle me here even longer.
As for the question of mixed race, I tend to go for Asian girls; specifically Asian girls that were raised on traditional Asian values. They seem to have a tendency to be a lot more earnest, considerate and intelligent than the typical "American" girl. Of course race doesn't really matter that much to me, but that's just what I've observed over the years.

Eh, I don't really have much of a preference either way. I've done both LDR and non-LDR. Though like everyone else mentioned already, maintaining a LDR takes work from both sides. In terms of ethnicity...no preference either. I've dated black girls, east asian girls, white girls, and hispanic girls so far. Can't say I specifically liked any of them more than the other because of their ethnicity. :v

I've mentioned this plenty of times in the past, but unless you live in a more populous state like CA, NY, FL, PA, or TX (for example), you chances of finding someone on here who even lives within a few hours of where you are can be pretty low. Anyone who is seriously trying to use this site for dating probably is going to at least have to be open to a short-term LDR because of how everyone is spread out.
Just given the disproportionate number of guys to girls on the site (and dating sites in general) I figured there'd be more than a few guys out there willing to have a LDR. Hell, just look at almost every new girl who does wind up joining the site and expresses any form of interest in a relationship in their profile or on the forums and they're probably inundated with a minimum of a dozen friend requests from guys within 24 hours of signing up. :P
As far as the interracial side of the question goes, I wouldn't be opposed to them at all and more power to those that have them.
