I'm all for letting your freak flag fly, but only if you're comfortable with it. The only time I walk around in cosplay is when there is a convention or meeting going on. I have an outfit I bought from a lolita shop (Baby The Stars Shine Bright) that I've worn to the mall before, but as I live in a small town, people sort of get the wrong impression... But what you wear is always your choice and yours alone! :D

Hehehe, I don't give a flying foo par what people thing about what I wear xD I've walked around the mall, the grocery store, the park in my J-Rock garb (5" platform boots), in my loli cosplay (complete with lace and peticoats) and I've gone to the grocery in my maid outfit... All came with stares, random chatter and loud conversation around what I wore...but no one had the nutletts to say anything to be directly. So I don't care, lol.

People talk because they have nothing else better to do, I personally have never worn a cosplay but I will this halloween as a preliminary for the next con. On the regular I dress casually T-shirt button up and stuff In california everything is so fad oriented. Nonetheless i don't conform i dress in what I like. other peoples opinion is just that their opinion. for example the reason I love this site so much is because every1 is unique, as zack said to aerith (aeris) in FFVII Crisis Core "Normal's overated" the kewlest people r u guys here I hope to meet some of you (hopefully in Lolita, Cosplay, or any other form of "dorky" otaku awesomeness) sorry for getting all psychological but i am an intellectual :-P

I'm cool with psychological intellectual explosions! Mostly cuz... it has the word "psycho" in it xD But you speaks truth Aaroniero-kun! Normal is horribly overrated and I'm quite over "normies" as my group of random-otaku-nerdletts refer to them. Like...the whole scene kid thing... Me, my friends...my BF have been rocking that look forever! And getting stares cuz "we're" not supposed to dress like that and now they do it cuz TV said it was awesome... *cough*sheep*cough*

i'm always late with new trends primarily because i dont wanna conform so if its good and not popular anymore i'll check it out (much later)

I wish I had the guts to walk around town in cosplay(but I'm sure I'd scare the townfolk)But I guess it depends on what your cosplaying. I say go for it.

Ya know, if you're unsure of whether or not you would be comfortable walking around in public in someting... good and random xD You could take baby steps, hehe.
Like.. if you rock animal ears, wear those first or... a choker or cuffs or something. Feeling daring? FLUFFY TAIL! Or maybe.. 5" platforms..Ya know, whatever makes you feel all warm, fuzzy an squee worthy.
^_~

Haha, I almost feel bad commenting in this again because everyone seems against going with trends. I can see where you're coming from by alluring to people as "sheep" when they wear what they see as "cool" on television... but we're not really any different. Believe me, this anime trend is growing and before you know it there are going to be people walking around in anime inspired outfits and semi cosplay everywhere. Trends are the "norm." It's people who look down on others for following those trends that are strange. I am a happy trend follower... although in my neck of the woods I'm looked at as either odd or really high fashion because everyone else around me is stuck in L.L Bean and woodsman wear. So even though I would look normal to city people in Boston, where I am now I look like a crazy person. It all depends on your location and the trend around you. Does that make any sense at all?
