Anime Winter Season 2017/2018

From what I've watched so far. Card Captor Sakura: Clear Card-hen: Yup. That's about how I remember it being. XD Kokkoku: That thing at the end... That's how you make a monster. Creepy, unsettling, and non-generic... And it doesn't even really do anything. I want to stare at it longer! Toji no Miko: I was expecting a boring, generic militarized shrine miko fighting monsters anime. Thankfully only the opening scene contained it, and it appears to be setting up for something more interesting. Grancrest Senki: Seems like something that could draw me in. I've been hungering for a world building medieval fantasy anime for a while. Though I still have my apprehensions. Overlord II: I'm only like halfway through overlord 1. Give me time for this one.

"Kokkoku" Ep.01 https://myanimelist.cdn-dena.com/images/anime/8/89987.jpg That was not what I expected. But as Chocopyro said, yeah they did a great job on thing at the end. This one looks like it's going to be really good. I have to recommend all of you watch the first episode. It definitely got added to my watch list. Synopsis: Juri Yukawa lives with her NEET father and brother, her retired grandfather, her sister (a single mother) and her young nephew. One day, her nephew and brother are kidnapped for ransom. Having only 30 minutes to meet the demands of the kidnappers, Juri, who realizes there is not enough time to prepare the money, decides to head for their rescue by herself with knife in hand when her grandfather uses a mysterious stone passed on in the Yukawa family to stop time. In a world where everyone and everything are inert, Juri and her father and grandfather run to rescue the two. But at the kidnappers' hideout, they soon realize they are not the only ones who can move about in this still world...

"Gakuen Babysitters" (School Babysitters) Ep.01 https://myanimelist.cdn-dena.com/images/anime/8/89978.jpg What is up with that back story? Their parents just had kids and left them to raise themselves? And then they're happily off to live with a stranger that's never even bothered to meet them in person first? And go figure... only to find himself in servitude to this psycho old lady. But hey, he's happy about it, so it's okay.... All of that's seriously f'd up. I'm guessing now that the backstory is out of the way, the shows going to be about the little kids. You'll have to wait to see. Side note: They look like one year olds but act like 3 year olds if not older... But it's anime, so it doesn't need to make sense. Synopsis: After their parents are killed in a plane crash, Ryuuichi and his younger brother Kotarou are taken in by the chairman, who they never met before, of an elite academy. Ryuuichi becomes the school daycare's new babysitter.

"Mitsuboshi Colors" Ep. 01 https://myanimelist.cdn-dena.com/images/anime/5/89984.jpg I read another synopsis that said the cop was their evil nemesis... No, the cop isn't really evil. And no they don't fight monsters to protect the city. They are just little kids with imaginations. They are drawn fairly cute though. This one's target audience is definitely younger kids. But holly cow, what are they trying to teach kids... Geez... A rocket launcher? Really? I don't think i'd let my nieces watch this... Don’t want them getting ideas... little brats... Was cute though. Synopsis: The "Colors" are three cute little girls who hang out together and say they're protecting the peace of their city. They have lots of fun together, doing stuff like playing games, solving puzzles, and going to the zoo. This anime follows their largely happy daily life.

"Yowamushi Pedal: GLORY LINE" Ep.01 https://myanimelist.cdn-dena.com/images/anime/3/88489.jpg This is the 4th Season, so I'm sure you know it by now.

"Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san" (Skilled Teaser Takagi-san) Ep.01 https://myanimelist.cdn-dena.com/images/anime/7/89990.jpg That girl has got skills... lol... That was a lot cuter than I expected. Synopsis: "If you blush, you lose." Living by this principle, the middle schooler Nishikata gets constantly made fun of by his seat neighbor Takagi-san. With his pride shattered to pieces, he vows to turn the tables and get back at her some day. And so, he attempts to tease her day after day, only to find himself victim to Takagi-san's ridicule again sooner than later. Will he be able to make Takagi-san blush from embarrassment even once in the end?

"Basilisk - Ouka Ninpouchou" Ep.01 https://myanimelist.cdn-dena.com/images/anime/2/88384.jpg Very slow, and the plot seemed a bit twisted. Maybe the next episode will be more interesting. Synopsis: The battle for succession that continued for three generations of shogun in the Keichou era culminated in a gruesome battle of ninja arts between the Kouga and Iga clans. Amidst a rain of flower petals, a man and woman who had decided to live for love were separated once again, beautiful in their transience. However, it is said that by the hand of Hattori Hanzo's adopted son, Kyouhachirou, these two flower petals, whether temporarily or permanently, were given life again and left two mementos behind. These children, born with a destiny of their own, were called Kouga Hachirou and Iga Hibiki. The former had eyes like his father's, and the latter had eyes like her mother's. It is now the Kan'ei era, and the land is at peace. As ninjas begin to disappear into the shadows after being deemed unnecessary, The Kouga and Iga clans ask a favor of Hachirou and Hibiki in hopes of reinforcing their foundations.

So far I've watched Kokkoku, Teaser Takagi, Overlord II, Grancrest, Ryuuou Oshigoto, and Toji no Miko. So far between those, the one I'm the least confident in continuing is Toji no Miko, with Grancrest following closely. The one I'm most confident in is Kokkoku, with Teaser Takagi following closely. Overlord II is firmly in the middle, with the fairly dry first episode, I'm not sure what to expect, if it was merely to set it all up with a slow start, or if I should expect more. Ryuuou Oshigoto feels like it could easily go either way, but I feel it has some potential. The one that I'm the most surprised with is Kokkoku, I thought it had a good premise, but it wasn't at all what I was expecting.

"Ryuuou no Oshigoto!" Ep.01 https://myanimelist.cdn-dena.com/images/anime/12/89979.jpg This show kind of pissed me off. Trash from start to finish. Synopsis: The story is about a teenage boy who happens to be a shogi master. One day, a nine-year-old girl turns up at his house, requesting to be taken as his disciple. From there, all kinds of wacky hijinks ensue.
