Civil War Is Coming

I agree. Recreational drugs, in my opinion, is not an issue to elect over. I do get annoyed by people who vote for candidates on the assumption that they'll legalize stuff like weed. Too many actual messes to clean up.

The thing is you can't simply decide for everyone what is or isn't moral. We kill. Every day. Whether it's lesser beings or other humans. We exert our force on others, restricting their freedom, imprisoning them. There are killings that we consider justice, and there are killings that we consider unjust. Morality isn't decided on facts, but on opinion, and we'll simply have to let the majority decide on where that opinion lies.

@Daggerfall: Exactly, I will never vote based on that. Besides you don't need to elect anyone to get it legalized. All it needs is one bill to get passed through legislation.

@shinu: I sort of disagree, but not completely. There is static morality, such as murdering children and such being widely considered evil for generations. However these tend to usually be very extreme examples/situations. But I do agree with the part that a good portion of morality tends to be subjective. Just stating that after all is said and done, there is still a baseline for morality.
