changing the subject on this... So your fine with the whole rent a friend service, but would you ever consider putting yourself up as one?

I was put up for adoption when I was in the womb and I am a pretty sane person. I am sure I can handle being a rent-a-friend.

Certainly not. I can't fake emotions, not even for a shitload of money. Besides, I have a general aversion against other human beings.

Lol assuming she takes the proper precautions, it actually seems like a solid idea, especially since there's such a large demand for social connection (humans being social creatures and all). I've heard of people hiring bridesmaids/groomsmen, and like others have mentioned before me, cuddling business is hot in Japan. Loneliness is scary so all the power to her if it works out. Personally I'm not sure I'd put myself with one - something about paying for someone to personally spend time with you seems distasteful. I'd want someone to be with me because they actually enjoy my company, not because they are being paid as a transaction. Besides, if I wanted superficial friends that bad I'd just go to a bar and pay for a round of everyone's drinks. Ayyy.
