Making a Master Chief Helmet

Placed the fabric inside and applied fiberglass. Just finished 3rd layer. Once that dries I'll do a fiberglass layer around the outside, then start on bondo :)

Had to cut off a couple of drips from the outside. Fiberglassed the outside. Went ahead and removed the parts that will catch on your ears if you leave them. Gave it a coat of primer so I can see all the misperfections so it's easier to sand and bondo. I'll prime in between each sanding to see where I've sanded and where I haven't.

Started bondo. Sanded it down. On the left I did spackling to fill gaps, on the right I did more bondo. Gonna see which does better.

Done for the night, will continue after work tomorrow. My stepdad just gave me a sander to work with, so it should go much faster now :)

Been sanding and reapplying bondo. Currently have some spackling on the top left side of the helmet to get any tiny holes. If I get them all then that portion will be done.

Sanded down the spackling and spray painted again. That side is more or less done, the indent could use some more work, but I'll need some razors for that. The Dremel doesn't quite get the sharp edges I want. Applied the next layer of bondo to work on the top. Will try to sand it down and apply another layer before I go to bed.

I'm done with the top for now, may try spackling later. Got the back and right side in progress. Should have them done tomorrow after work. I was a bit lazy today, went to lay down after applying the putty and I fell asleep. When I woke up it was time to make dinner, so I only worked on it for a couple of hours today.

Eventually yeah, but I'd need to make the full set of armor, and that's a serious undertaking. For now I'll be happy with the helmet. This has been a small dream of mine for a long time, since I have nothing but time on my hands recently, I figured I'd finish it.
