Do you believe in marriage?

ouma_adam
Not sure how many of you seen SAO, I didn't expect it to have a romantic spin on it but there is this scene with the two main MC's (kirito & asuna) where they're lying down in bed and just chilling, chatting about life etc. I always come back to this scene admiring their relationship. They're so close, not just lovers but best friends and really care for each other. But it seems like today a lot of people seem to believe relationships like that are bittersweet and marriage holds no value. What do you guys think? Would you be ok with one, and only one person who's got your back no matter what, and do you believe such people still exist?

Marriage is the official union of lovers and should be done when both partners have wanted to have documented bond. Marriage is helpful when there is business or children involved. It also helps with commitment and so. Some people are afraid of commitment, and to that I say they just are afraid that they will end up hating their partner. Find someone you are ready to have by your side in life, don't jump into it too fast, and don't wait too long either.

Marriage is in the top three most important things in life. Of course I believe in it.

Hasn't changed anything for me or my now wife. We live the same and love the same as we did before. Personally, I have multiple people who have my back, but the level of comfort and connection with my wife, far surpasses those.

I definitely feel for some from a religious and spiritual context, it's very important. For me personally though, not really. I'd probably do it more for the tax benefits and if the gf really wanted to consummate the relationship in a serious manner assuming we were both ready for it at that stage in it.

@Cero, I differ a bit with your opinion - also girls can be fucked in this contract when they get married. It's not a question of the gender. If it a bad marriage than it's bad for both parts. To the topic: I haven't seen the end of SAO, but I suppose that it has an ideal happy ending. Yes, I believe that it gives the right person on your side - a soulmate - so you can share everything that matters you. But imho, the most people don't think about the consequences. A marriage is not only a contract of love - you'll "marry" also his/her family and problems. I'm a child of divorced parents and I've seen how dirty can end a marital strife. Based on this experiences, I'm afraid to marry someone who I love.

Cero, See, if you don't have anything, you can't lose anything. The man is not required to give a damn thing. If the woman makes more, she will lose more. Gotta play your cards right and get a sugar momma. It's not about gender, it's about finances and there in lies the real factor.
