I used to do flings quite a bit a few years back after a couple of proper relationships, it was definitely fun for some time to just play around for a little bit while it lasted but eventually I just found it stale, boring and meaningless - it just doesn't have that uplifting, soothing and almost spiritual feeling I get whenever I'm that physically and emotionally close to the person I genuinely love. I'm certainly for the idea of people just wanting to have fun though, not everyone wants something serious and long-term.

Even when I set aside the romanticisms, I still find myself more suited for longer relations, as I'm the kinda guy who sinks and melds with a partner on as much a spiritual level as anything else. I explore people, even if just on a subconscious level. I have nothing against flings. I just know I can't sustain myself on them.

I have experienced both and I must say I have a preference for serious relationships. Flings can be fun though as long as you are both on the same page.
