The Freedom of Apathy

-We look at couples every day -And envy what they have in hand -Some will struggle and some shall pray -For another palm, their heart demands -Yet with this wish comes another cost -That grips your heart right through the bone -Something important that you have lost -In your fear of being on your own -The marks you place on the ones you "love" -Carved by the words you speak aloud -The things we profess our joy above -Meant not for us but for the crowd -Like chains melted to the flesh -They bind us -Give it a rest -Instead see the truth that lies ahead -Trust means nothing in chains -Pay close heed to the words I've said -Perhaps you'll find something has been gained -There is freedom in apathy towards another -No love lost between you two -Think of your friends, your sisters, your brothers -Do you brag about how much they mean to you? -You do? -I don't think that's true -You care about them, I know you do -But what I think about it doesn't matter -Treating it like it does is so much sadder -And don't pretend like your passionate dialogue is not meant for me -For you see -Even though I do not revere them -I notice how you made a point that I can hear them -If they don't need you to brag on love -Then your words of smitten life have no point -And if these are words they they insist you shove -Then they're not a wife or husband I'd appoint. Eh, this one wasn't too good either. If you liked it, cool.

I feel touched, truly touched, it speaks to my own heart! Good man, we need more of your kind to make this country Great Again!
