Honestly, if you pull the taxes up too high the rich will simply migrate to other countries. I would, too, if I were rich. Yes, poverty sucks but the prospect of becoming obscenely rich is what motivates a lot of people to work harder. Humans are generally the most productive if they get something out of it because we're selfish c***s. My father used to be poor but he worked his way up and now is pretty damn well off. In Germany taxes erase 42% of your income... so if they were to pull them even higher... shit would hit the fan.

"Give the poor money" is as blunt as to say like "Take money from the riches" It´s not a Robin Hood tale
In general to tax rich people more is not that bad. Does it hurt them? Hell no. In the end there are tons of other questions people should ask themselves. In case for the rich people on the eart (I guess 10-20 own half of the money of the the entire earth or so I guess) Whatever... Just get your health system on track and do your thing. It´s bad enough that people like Trump or Clinton were president electives and the US got some sort of I don´t even know what to call it as president. In Europe it doesn´t look that much better honestly. Look at France (the new presidents elect for that country) look at the Erdogan and look far more in the east and look at countries like North Korea which is totally a dictators land and even look at China and what is going on. It´s really depressing to watch what is going on right now.

Again Lamby, the problem with healthcare isn't the funding. It's more complicated than "more money means better quality".

It´s about how you spend the money. In germany (the country I´ve been born and raised) the government, people like Schäuble etc don´t have to tell you how they spend the money they get from taxes etc. Waste it on the airport in Berlin, help other countries, help out refugees or just throw it into the pacific ocean. They don´t have to tell you :P

What I've heard so far is that the Elbphilharmonie is pretty awesome. And as it is with many huge projects, they always cost a shitload of money but once they are completed and become cultural heritage people will start to say "yes, building this cathedral/arena/tower/city hall definitely paid off"

Hell no the BER was actually just a waste of money and could have been finished way faster. Maybe it would have been faster if someone else did build it up from the scratch.

"You can't fix what was broken from the start". If architects would listen to craftsmen, that would be great. I mean, you can't just start building a huge airport without noticing that your complete safety standards are not being fulfilled!

There were tons of points people didn´t think or care about at this one project. Never knew how people can be that superficial not to see it
