If abortion laws were on the books as illogical, uneducated and paranoia driven as Chicago gun laws - modern feminists would have a real case for being truly oppressed. Also having justifiable and legitimate greivances in the past and present does not justify all actions in the pursuit of reparations and action for said greivances.

I like how all the serious posts on a thread called "Controversial Opinions" immediately turned to politics. People seem to have some sort of itch to scratch about expressing their views right now. Everyone is somewhat afraid to speak their true values because the atmosphere is so politicised. I find it odd that people only have controversial opinions about problems caused by other people. It seems to me that this kind of discussion is less about expressing your views in ways other people can understand, and more about deliberately expressing them in ways such that other people could never get to the bottom of why you're feeling this way. It's a defence mechanism used to vent about how you don't understand how everyone could be so angry. In this sense there is a complete lack of understanding for the emotions of others. This thread is being treated as if political opinions are objective. The reason there is so much hatred right now is that it is coming from people like maria and bombshell who have experiences unique to them that give rise to their opinions. But no one is making an effort to understand those experiences, instead only defending their own opinions all the more.
