Viewing VS. Playing

To me, viewing happens to me more than playing because sometimes I get called on for playing and be forced to quit for moments.
Viewing things in video games such as BGM, development history and other parts of viewing them seems more comfortable than playing due to too many distractions from my parents and other concerns going in the way, while playing can be time consuming and be frustrating.
What about you readers?

I enjoy a mix of both but definitely prefer playing. Learning more about a game Is nice because it makes me enjoy playing the game more.

Prefer playing. Maybe watching for like competitive games or taking a quick look at what a game is like but other than that watching someone else play/listening to their commentary isn't really my thing.

The only time I watch people play games is when my friends are playing. Never found the appeal of watching a youtuber do gaming runs since I can do that myself.
Oh, I also watch glitch videos since those are hilarious.

I love playing and watching - the only games I will watch is if I don't get the chance to play them myself. Something like Bloodborne because as excellent as that game is, I'm not going to buy a system just for that one game.
