One punch man is a top tier anime that explores the concept of depression through saitama who always dreamed of becoming a hero but when he reached the peak his progress stopped. He could not get anymore stronger than he already was. Like most people without progressing towards pur goals in life we tend to stop functioning normally and become depressed like Saitama. He is always hoping for a thrill within fighting enemies but every time he gets his hopes up, he is disappointed because yet again the villain dies after one punch. Boros excited him enough to convince Saitama that Boros might be able to withstand his serious punch but even after that seeing Boros battered and broken, Saitama is left yet again disappointed and halted from his progression in life. The journey of Saitama is not one of action but one of a very prevalent issue we each go through at some point in our lives, and how we will try to stop our depression.
