Thank you heroesneverdie for bringing this to our attention. A quick internet search indicates this sequel series will include a living Lelouch a few years after the last episode, meaning he is alive! Uncertain as to when it will be released, two movies will recap the original series so probably not for a year or two.

For some reason I heard 2017 for this. Maybe it's for one of the movies. I'll leave a link here about it as soon as I can get on my computer
