Your thoughts about trump winning the presidency

Motive is necessary to determine if something was a "Hate crime" were you trying this whole time to convince everyone that racist people exist? or that non racist people sometimes do or say racist things? because I dont think anyone in this thread disagrees with those things. I thought we were talking about hate crime. specifically a rise in hate crime specifically caused by donald trump being elected. if this was not what you were talking about then you are waaaay off topic.

FBI definition of hate crime “criminal offense against a person or property motivated in whole or in part by an offender’s bias against a race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, ethnicity, gender, or gender identity.” Clearly it was motivated by bias against race. Whether it was intended to be funny among friends or specifically intended as a threat is not relevant to what kind of act it was.

"Clearly we know what it was motivated by thats why our tax dollars are being wasted with an FBI investigation because why investigate? its so obviously CLEARLY a hate crime. no investigation necessary." claiming to know things you dont know is not cool.

@Daggerfell Please try restating your question. I'm not sure what you're asking. @Animekirk That didn't come out the way I intended. Racism originates from bias against a race. Racist actions, therefore also originate from bias against a race. What this person's intentions were as far why he did it, I don't know. But what motivates racist actions is racism or bias against a race. There's really no way around that.

I could right now commit the action of saying a bunch of racist things with the motivation of rebelling against PC culture and censorship. my motivations in that case would not be racist but i'd be using racist action to further that non racist motivation.

@Napalm That shouldn't be surprising considering we're just following suit with what we got from the candidates and questions during the debates.

Also with racism there is such a thing as being prejudiced or racially insensitive without full blown racism. Instead of putting thought and putting things in a more proper scale its easier to use the extreme.
