Jose, you can't tell people what to like or believe in. If there are no one in your area you can relate to, just simply WORK HARD & move to a place where you are happy/satisfied.

@jose1990, I totally understand where your coming from I stopped watching the news and avoid questionable areas around Chicago land like the plague! I feel like that as well everyone else is not just as into my interests as I am. But I do feel the Midwest is harder to find others that are as devoted to or close enough to the same interests as you are or at least from my experiences anyway. @Cero, Round 1 is so amazing I love and hate it because its so much fun yet I end up being completely broke when I leave I wish the games were cheaper but it's still a blast!I try to go at least every month or two. You guys must of gone to Mitsuwa at some point in Arlington Heights if not you need to the ramen at Santouka is like the best I've ever had ^^ .

@Sugar_content87 I LOVE MITSUWA! One of my favorite places to hang out with my friends since we are all otakus and just love going there for food, manga, and whatever else we can find. :)

I've been to Mitsuwa once, I need to go back sometime.

Living in Oklahoma it's actually pretty easy to find people with similar interests. Especially among people of my generation and younger. Problem for me is that they usually find me scary and I get avoided until a mutual friend brokers me in lol.

It's just how things are perceived. That and normally any type of media tends to publish more things that are not portrayed as they should be. Just got to get out there. Illinois is literally Chicago and then everything else lol. I'm from the Southern tip of Illinois so I totally understand where you're coming from.
