Why I think you should vote for Trump

"Being a Brit watching American politics" https://i.imgur.com/jDnQhH1.gif I'm sure I've posted that before, but in all seriousness, I am rooting for trump if he becomes President it will probably be much better for the UK as a result given how He likes Britain a lot and has a financial stake within the country.

An interesting video I watched on the topic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LibRNYJmZ-I From the get go, Trump framed himself to look like the best candidate by playing the one thing he had against others: lack of experience. We're supporting a guy who's never done this BECAUSE he's never done so. Looking in the past Trump was this gun-toting, pro freedom over feelings, border building machine. Now that he's secured the nomination suddenly he's advocating for peace, talking about tearing down walls(metaphorically speaking), and protesting the dangers of violence in society when just months ago he ranted on killing as the only reasonable option? A man like Trump is dangerous. Almost all of his positions he's either backpeddled or outright did a 180 on now that he's appealing to a wide audience and fucking everyone is buying it. He treats politics like a game and I'm sorry but the fact that he's "anti-establishment" is not enough for me to vote him in. Or would you vote for me just because I've never spent a day in an elected position? Maybe I should be president. I dislike Trump MORE than Hillary or Sanders. Doesn't mean that I think Hillary is a good choice. Frankly it's like choosing between being hit by a rock or a rock with glass shards sticking out of them. Glass hurts just a little more. Name calling like a child so when his supporters hear dissenting opinions, they just shout them down. His position on healthcare amounts to "fuck obamacare" well what is your alternative?...."fuck obamacare" Attacking a judge on a case of interest to him purely because said judge is Latino. And when called out on it his response is just "oh well I'm tough on the border". Beyond all that I just do not like the way Trump handles things. The fact that he's "anti-establishment" is just not enough for me. If you want me to keep going I can. There are some issues I slightly agree with Trump on. I'm not one of those people that shitpost on Facebook "Trump is Hitler". But I am not voting for him.

the election this year is like choosing an std out of a hat, there's no way to come out of it clean feeling good about yourself.

Arc is it? I want you to read this and then make up your mind: https://www.reddit.com/r/EnoughTrumpSpam/comments/4teoxl/a_final_response_to_the_tell_me_why_trump_is_a/ Some of my favorites include: -Trump openly calls for the U.S to commit war crimes and advocates for the murder of innocent women and children. -Trump doubles down after veterans speak out claiming U.S soldiers would not commit war crimes or torture children even if ordered to. Trump responds with, “They’re not going to refuse me. If I say do it, they’re going to do it.“ -Trump says Geneva Conventions a problem and needs to be changed since, US soldiers are to afraid to do their job due to laws which outline the definition of war crimes. -Trump thinks lethal injection is “too comfortable” Wants to devise a more painful way to execute people. -When asked for comments on two of his supporters who brutally beat and urinated on homeless man, Trump responds by defending the men as just being “passionate”. This is a man who despite running for office openly speaks about bombing countries with nukes, forcing soldiers to murder children, and openly advocates violent acts from his supporters. I'll say this while I still have the legal right to. FUCK Donald Trump. I hope he doesn't ever hold power in office.

@combatvoss: Huh, I assume you didn't look into the DNC leak? If you did, you wouldn't be spouting MSM rhetoric like this. I have some nice responses for you: - Does Vietnam ring a bell? Remember how the Viet Cong used women and children to lure our soldiers into suicide bombings? History repeats itself, learn from it. - Again, you're spouting out unfinished MSM rhetoric. You forgot the part where he said his punishment would be to fire them. What else do you expect to happen to soldiers that can't follow orders? Did you think they weren't discharged or something? - See my first point. War isn't as honorable and pretty as you would love it to be. It's hell and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Especially not here in the United States. - I dare you to tell that to the face of the mothers of dead children. Children killed by preventable crime. Any parent would want their child's murderer to die painfully. How easy did you think it was to get the death penalty? - Alright, have I established that the MSM has been bought out? Still don't believe me? Read up on the DNC email leak. If I had to fully address that MSM rhetoric I'd end up having to write blocks of text. And last, you again failed to give us the full event when it comes to his "advocating violence," from his supporters. Did you forget about the protestors who forced their ways into a private convention? Or that Trump and countless supporters SAW a protestor assault a Trump supporter? Or that they saw the Trump supporter fought back? Constitutes as self defense. I tend to like the candidate that's saying to not sit there and let yourself get assaulted. That he's willing to go to bat for his supporters that had been attacked.

My responses in order -You mean that war that was over 40 years ago? The war where we didn't have the sophisticated technology that allowed us to remotely detect explosives from a distance? Yes I learn from the past but that blade cuts both ways. Or should the fact that one woman hurt my feelings cause me to distrust all women? These are children's lives for fucks sake. I know war isn't pretty and I'm not expecting a peaceful resolution. But I don't think that tyranny and violence should be the norm. Trump's rhetoric about a "strong" nation more than borders on outright dictatorship. -This isn't about the soldiers. It's about the man ordering them to kill children just for being born in the wrong place at the wrong time. I don't see war as some honorable ten paces then shoot bullshit. But that, to me, is taking it way too far. As is ignoring the Geneva convention and encouraging the use of nuclear weapons. - I would want my child's murderer to pay. I understand wanting vengeance. But would you want your child to be painfully executed after being subject to painful torture for the satisfaction of people who are so gung ho on revenge that they never stopped to think that they got the wrong guy? The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of America estimates that if all death-sentenced defendants remained under sentence of death indefinitely at least 4.1% would be exonerated. And that is a conservative estimation. We do not know the actual number. The death penalty is flawed enough in our system as is. -To be clear, I would say fuck Hilary too. She is not fit for the job. But I believe Hilary will just screw up the country. I believe Trump will kill it. Yes I read the DNC leak. Don't think I'm not pissed off about how the Democrats were playing this one. To say that I do not endorse trump is not to say that I like Hilary. She's just the lesser of two evils in my eyes.

I just got done watching Bernie's speech at the DNC and... I'll confess that it was a teary-eyed affair for me. I know that it was a hard decision for Bernie to endorse Hillary, but I think he did it from a place of honestly believing he was doing the best thing he could for his country. If you pay attention, I think he knows exactly what he's doing when he says, "Hillary understands [insert Bernie policy idea here]" He is making sure that she is accountable if she doesn't fulfill these promises. People asked why he stayed in so long -- THIS was why. Those platform concessions were why. It's so Hillary supporters can hear his ideas and finally feel like maybe it's okay to agree with him since he now supports their candidate. That means now THEY will be holding her feet to the fire over these ideas too. Will she actually follow through on any of them? I don't think for a second she will if it comes down her own volition, but what's important is that we're not going to make it easy on her. The best parts of his speech for me were the points where he emphasized emphatically that it is not about this one election or one candidate, and the part where he talked about supporting down-ballot candidates. I am very proud to have supported him up to now, but I'll be voting for Jill Stein in November. More importantly, I will be voting progressives into office up and down the ballot until we see some real change. I hope anyone who feels the same will join me. To everyone: vote your conscience; no matter what that means to you.

Trump is an unstable and unpredictable idiot who mostly just spouts what he thinks people want to hear at that moment and doesn't really think about consequences. Hillary is conniving and intelligent (but not as intelligent as she thinks she is). Neither can do everything they want to do because there are still two other branches of the government to deal with and keep them in check. I'm not voting for either but Trump would be more entertaining just to see people freak out and see how much damage he can do.

Shawnji, I agree with your logic. A part of why we are in this whole mess are aaaall of the other people that are in positions of political power right now. Bernie had a great speach, but I only expect Hillary to follow through with maybe a small fraction of what he said she would do. @combatvoss I only could read some of the articles from your link, but I can tell from what I read that every article was twisted to make trump look the worst. For example "Trump wants another world war". It was just him talking about the Paris Nice attack and how this is a world war we are in. That's no big deal. Bush Jr. called it a world war. With trump what I have the most problem with is that I don't think he has a solid plan for anything, and that is a scary thought that makes me want to vote independent.
