Kind of. There aren't many active members near where I live, so I'm not counting on getting a girlfriend through here, but the social interaction with people of similar interests is still nice.

Uh.... should I be offended by that remark?! NO OLDER OTAKU!? CREEPY OLD MAN!? I was watching Anime before you were born and I was not aware there was a age limit for enjoying it.

Like Keisanki said, it's nice to talk to people with similar interests. I don't really expect to find a woman on here though. VERY few in my area to begin with... and i'd say 80% of the females on this site are 15-19 years old anyway. The more word gets out the better the odds of new people in the right places or age ranges will join though. Never know. And thank you catbus for being someone on here that is actually older than me ;)

I'm taking it seriously, and though I'm an old person in spirit, and have in the past been called creepy, I'm just 20 and not even metaphorically from outer space. The "not many active members near where I live" thing applies to me, too, so although I'm taking the site seriously, I'm not giving it too much in the way of expectations. It has been cool for chatting with people, though.

Like wiglaf said, its nice to talk to others about similar interests. Am i trying to find a female companion here? Eh not really but if a girl decides she likes an older guy I'm not going to shoo her away. Same for older girls I have no problem getting to know an older woman if she shows interests since after you hit like 28-29 your age range preference kinda starts stretching. Yes I'm an old guy that likes anime.. is it creepy? eh maybe to some girls into it that are mid teenagers. Older dudes know that when it comes down to it everyone has hobbies and interests and as long as it isn't raping or murdering others most of us are cool w/it.
