I hate it when coworkers try to sell you the upside of working 60 hour weeks like the company is doing us a favor. "Don't you want to make more money?" Like yes preferably in less than 40. "Well that's impractical. Besides what would you being doing with your free time anyway?" Not being here that's for sure.

Oh shit you have mandatory overtime too? I got lucky tho since i just transferred to the new warehouse and they're not allowed to give me mandatory overtime for the first two weeks but after that I'm dead

My experience with any job I've ever worked was they wanted me to start doing 3 departments minimum day 1. Just my luck. To this day I still remember walking into Kroger to apply for work at 16 and them just throwing me a shirt to put on and get to work. Best of luck with your overtime, Secret Boi.

Unless you're a firefighter or work in some other emergency services. They're is no such thing as mandatory overtime. Mandatory is just a word they use to scare you to work more. Your employer can't force you to work overtime. They also can't legally fire you if you refuse to work overtime. BTW I'm not against working overtime. I'll happily work overtime. Since I do like making more money. But if for whatever reason. Once in a blue moon. I don't feel like working overtime. Ain't nobody going to force nor mandate it on me.
