Does it matter to you whether or not people are paying attention to you?

burninghalo
Do you care if people notice you and not just your senpai but people in general? How much if you do. Do you like being the center of attention. Do you just want someone checking in on you? Let me know your thoughts. This question was inspired by playing Presentable Liberty.

Attention isn't important to me. I can go months without other people's attention. As far as people noticing me, I prefer to be a "Ghost" and go unnoticed. I hate being the center of attention. That's why birthdays or other celebratory events for me make me very uncomfortable. The only people that I care about checking in on me is your immediate family. Let's me know they care.

For me i like giving other people some attention!. I have reserved, shy friends so I like to create events for them to enjoy and hang out with together. Like simple video game nights, pot lucks, drawing sessions, finding the wackiest things to do around town or even simple study sessions. But I'm pretty bipolar about the attention on me, at one point i would be the person leading an event and sometimes i would be the one in the corner just reading to myself, blocking the people around me. It also depends on the people, i have no problems with my closest friend giving them attention and love but when it's with acquaintances or friends who are less close, my voice dies down and I don't feel the need to put spotlight on anyone. I'm a person who is heavily influenced by the people around me so it all really depends on that.

im an attention whore and it really does mean the world to me when i get attention. whenever i feel ignored, or that im not getting enough i feel sort of depressed and less motivated to do things. i have no problem giving attention to someone but if your not gonna do the same im not wasting my time on you and will talk to you whenever i feel like i want to talk to you

I want a bit of attention from my immediate friends and constant attention from the person I'm involved with. It's not something I necessarily thrive on and I really can go without attention from friends from extended periods of time, but that's where dating is the game changer. Surprisingly, I can do this fairly well without coming off as clingy.

@Panda I'm the same way, I'm not a huge attention whore but I do like attention from others when i get it. I'll give others attention as well but if I'm not receiving the same amount of attention or more I just move on and use my time on someone else.

I don't think there exist any being that's uncomfortable with receiving attention. There's always going to be someone or some group of persons that are going to be important enough for oneself to want to be noticed by them most of the time. For myself, I don't really like the attention I receive on the streets or in my university because is an attention that, unfortunately, blinds people from seeing who I am. I dislike being the center of attention because it hinders my ability of getting away with things easily. However, I do really like when my family pays a lot of attention to me and makes me feel spoiled. I cannot stand when friends close to me try to ignore me, etc. So is just a matter of preferences.

Naw I honestly don't care. Never cared what people think about me, and never will. Unless it's somebody I consider very special, I'm quite neutral and indifferent to people and any sort of interactions with them. Don't get me wrong though, I do enjoy talking to people every now and then if they are interesting. But don't expect me to beg and dance around you if you ignore me, ain't that kind of person. I'll just shrug, turn around, and leave. Because I've got better things to do in life, than talking to myself like an idiot.

I don't really care regardless, unnecessary attention makes me extremely uncomfortable. Although i suppose it depends on the situation and purpose as to of why such attention is given. I have no problem speaking in big crowds or standing-out in them, although if i'm just minding my own business and there's just alot of unnecessary attention then sure, i'll gladly hate it. But if it has a purpose, then sure. although that's not often nowadays, Although i really hate when people start getting into my private matters.
