Why did start watching anime?

I started watching it because I really liked the art styles that has cropped up anime since its inception - I thought it looked cool, imaginative and over-the-top which I love. Ever since I became vehement about my love for anime nearly 10 years ago, I've never stopped.

I started watching anime when i was a kid staying up late to watch Toonami. Back then i didn't know it was anime, but i did wonder why they where so much better than the usual cartoons. the first anime i watched where The big 3 (OP,N,B) and my favorite detective Conan.

I was reading a conversation between two friends online about Death Note and thought the plot sounded interesting. I started watching it and gave up when the story slowed down a few episodes in. I picked it up a few months later, just to give it another chance (my friends were saying such good things about it), and watched it to the end over two days. Then I thought that if there are stories this good out there, I want to read and watch more of them. That was a year ago this month.

I first saw Sailor Moon when I was four years old and from that point on, I was pretty much hooked. I started seeking out other anime but there really wasn't much else out there for kids my age until DBZ and Pokémon got big. Then I started watching anime that was really more for older kids and teens because that's all there really was at the time.

Toonami in 1997. DBZ,Sailor moon, and I think Inuyasha, were the ones I remember watching. I Don't remember why I stopped watching, but what got me back into anime,was initial D, Fairy Tail, Darker than Black, and Rosario + vampire on Netflix.

I actually remember liking anime since the third grade. I didn't exactly hit Otaku level till I was 10 though. (Card captors pokemon, and digimon. Need I say more?)

I started anime when i was 4 :) or even 3 ... watching pokemon ! Naruto ! Ghost fighter ! :) there was even fairy tail all broadcast on my tv! :) i liked this anime chanel more than my cartoon network ! But i do love the old cartoon network as well! :) i eventually got to see tora dora all in my languages which are really cool! My favourite one back then and still to this day is sugar sygar rune . I make a tradition that every winter break it's the anime i'll watch :) ! Anime helps me through depression and making frienss and understanding people :) ...... It helps me cope with my losses ! I am a part of an anime group as well in facebook! I love animeeee ! And the community is so amazing! :) it's one of my likes and passion i'd never give up! Even though mom said i give it more time than studying! But anime is lifeeeee! <3

The amazing art of it has always caught my eye since I was little. Pokémon was my gateway to it since I highly enjoyed the games, but I took a big break from it. Then my best friend slowly got me into Bleach. Oh..my..gosh. Ever since 2010 I've always been on the look out for good supernatural, action, shounen, Anime to indulge in. Out of any thing out there to watch Anime itself has like the best plot twists, in my opinion. Which is another one of the things that keep me watching. They really know how to shock you.
