How to deal with bigoted evangelical parent

$50 says the guys giving OP a hard time in this topic would be extremely supportive and friendly about this if the same exact thing came from a girl.

$10 and you got a deal! People don't change easy, and since you can't move out of the place, I guess you just need to grow a thick skin until you saved enough. You survived till now, should be ok for another few years or so. Is the min wage that low, that you can't even afford a single room? I've no idea since I'm from the other side of the planet.

@neet-one: Welp, you owe me $50 then. XD Guy or girl, there's only very few instances where I would support this. Otherwise I'd say the same thing to anyone, regardless of gender. REAL physical abuse, not made-up "emotional" shit. Sexual assault. Parents that legitimately lock their kids in their rooms all day. These EXTREME situations are the ones you need to escape from. But not because a parent is, "hurting my feelings," with their opinions. I may come off as an asshole, but the point of it all is that you can't just run away when you meet someone you don't like. Life doesn't stop just because you dislike an opinion. OP needs to learn to suck it up and function in the real world, around people he probably won't like. We all have to do it at some point. And I do hope things get better for him, but that's on him to change his own mindset.

Gudmoore...You done did good...*sniff*...You done did good. I get exactly what Gudmoore is saying and it's not because op has a penis (supposedly has...). It's blunt, but it's very real. At nineteen you don't have to live with your parents. I mean, my God, man! Honestly, I wouldn't be at home at your age if that's how I felt about my family. I was put down...A LOT...I was abused more so mentally and certainly physically at time times. Both of my parents are very much so Christian and yet hypocrites, but I never once doubted mine or their love. I understand you want advice, but what the hell are you looking for? You got advice here and shot it down...EVERY TIME. You need to get away if it's so toxic where you're living, it's really that simple. Make a game plan and write down your goals and how you plan to reach them. Either tough it out or make a friend (they're out there even if it takes time) and get a room mate. Also, there's always the military. Believe it or not, you can get a good education, paid medical, an income and some well needed discipline through that last option. Stop with the excuses, is all the advice I can give, given the information you have given.

@punhero: I agree. As it is now, his mom probably doesn't even know she's hurting him. It can be scary but he should definitely talk to her. Educate her and when the time is right, tell her that he's pansexual. @yaasshat: Great advice there. Definitely some things to take to heart. I tend to get a bit blunt. XD

I would have said the same shit too regardless of what he has down there. Fuck it, many people have to figure it out by their own. Dude, don't come with your "my life is shit" card because let me tell you, how the hell are you supposed to endure your parents with that mentality? How would you even survive if you didn't have the option to at least get the fuck out of that house because of how fucking hard it is where you live to move out? Don't come saying that. You wouldn't ever last a day out there in the real world. Man up and get the hell out of there to form part of a well recognized member of society. Don't just give out this crap in the internet. You can always just let them know how much they are making you feel this bad and you wouldn't even have to move out. God, just grow some balls. If you can't even talk to your parents, how do you think you're going to face people out there? Damn, the spoiled people.

Pun, Sadly, not everyone is or will be open minded. That's how society really is. You've got to learn how to cope or how to just be you with those like you or make a change.
