Nagasaki

The nuclear attacks against Japan were excessive and unnecessary as well as the scorched earth policies. The Empire of Japan was a brutal nation, but that does not give the US the excuse to ignore morality when fighting. The Japanese did of course incite the war, rape Korean women, try to institute genocide and biological warfare - that is all very terrible and should not be excused etc, but the excessive force used by the US is inexcusable. The Japanese were crumbling after the defeat at Iwo Jima and would have surrendered had they been given the chance - I think the threat of a nuke alone along with pictures from the Manhattan Project would have been sufficient to deter them.

My dad's relative was in Nagasaki and he's in Hiroshima , he lost a lot of relative from the bombs. This topic shouldn't pick up to talking with Japanese tho.
