Thoughts on the Pokemon movies?

What are your thoughts on the Pokemon movies? It can be about any of the movies and in any format. English dub, original script, changes, When they were published, what movies seem to be better than others or even things you wish were done differently. What are your thoughts?

The first few pokemon movies were amazing. I felt like they actually had emotion and a storyline to them. The other ones are good as well but not as great as the first 1-2 movies.

I love the first few pokemon movies but once you get older its hard for you to see anything new and for it to come up to par with what you saw as a kid.

Very true.

The first movie was fun simply because it was the first movie and Mewtwo was a total badass. I think the best one is Pokemon 4Ever with Celebi. It actually had a pretty good story. I also like the Lucario movie too. I think the Sinnoh region was the best region in the Pokemon anime and Lucario is one of the coolest pokemon from that region.

I like "Pokemon the First Movie" and "Pokemon 2000". I saw both of them in theaters when I was a little kid and recently rematch them and they are still good. They did not have that kid to current thing where you like the anime when your a kid and watch it now and see how stupid it is.

I remember crying during the first movie, when Ash was turned into stone as he tried saving all of the Pokémon. I also cried at the end of the 5th movie, Pokémon Heroes, when Latios sacrificed itself to protect the rest of the town. All of the other movies aside from those two, didn't really give off the same kind of emotional response, at least for me. I've still watched every one of them though. In the more recent Diancie movie, the writers in a way tried to go back to the 1st movie, by having Pikachu petrified instead, but for some reason, it didn't quite feel the same. It was like a recycled plot point and it felt more forced than anything else. The Hoopa movie that just aired on CN in December was actually pretty good, and it depicted Ash as being a lot more competent and mature. As for the anime, I have to agree with HumanoidS. The Diamond/Pearl Sinnoh region saga was the best, and I'd rate the Ruby/Sapphire Hoenn saga in second. I... um... still have a crush on Dawn ... she's really attractive with her long blue hair... *blushes* The Unova seasons went downhill -- that's when Brock left for good, Ash reverted back to having practically no intelligence whatsoever in catching and battling, and Team Rocket lost their comedic relief in favor of a more serious attitude, which I hated. The most recent anime saga, in the Kalos region, is headed back in the right direction... sort of... but it's still not the same without Brock, and we all know that the side-story of Serena's love interest in Ash is never going to work out. If anything, it'll just end in a very sad finale when the XY generation is over, and Ash goes back to Kanto, while Serena stays in Kalos to pursue her dream. I was surprised they were able to add Serena's story about meeting Ash at camp, before he got Pikachu, without messing up the timeline we have known since the very first episode. Also, I still think Serena shouldn't have cut her hair short. :( Anyways, those are my thoughts. The new season starts in February and yes, I still watch it weekly. :)

In my opinion the movies are going downhill. The Keldeo movie was okay, I just couldn't get over Vic Mignogna's voice as Keldeo. He sounded like Edward Elric. That didn't suit the tiny horse at all. But the action was cool. The most recent one I've watched was the Hoopa movie. It was terrible. First of all, the way Hoopa talked was cute at first, then terribly annoying. Then the entire bulk of the movie was Ash, Hoopa and Pikachu flying around on Latios and Latias defending a tower from some corrupted legendaries. It was just 45+ minutes of that...And the fight wasn't even exciting. There were no outside parties, Team Rocket didn't mess anything up or come in and ruin something, and the other party members were trying to restore Hoopa's bottle. There was nothing to keep me engaged is what I'm saying. At the end, Ash was about to be possessed by Hoopa's shadow, which could have TOTALLY redeemed this awful movie. But he fought it off in 2 seconds. Whoopie. I hope the newest movie is better, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
