Human Interaction

I have difficulties talking to people both in person and online. It's not that I don't want to be social. I crave that sort of interaction with people, but it seems these desires die in vain. I feel as if I put too much effort into trying to reach out (or in this situation, speak out), I come off as desperate and obnoxious. However, if I don't do anything, everything remains the same. This isn't new. This is an ongoing struggle I've had all my life. I'm absolutely resolved to change this aspect about me. However, I haven't the faintest idea as to how to do so. If you have any advice whatsoever, please respond. Thank you in advance.

Completely overrated, but if you really need to figure out how to get it working for you then the only real thing you can do is become more extroverted, otherwise you'll just be waiting till someone comes along and makes the first move. You could try to mellow out a bit and let the other person carry the conversation if you're really lost, if that sounds like it might work then just contribute to the conversation with knowledge you have on it, and if it works then it should naturally flow. I personally don't need human interaction, but you apparently crave it, if you come off as desperate that's fine, you just need people who can tolerate it or appreciate your efforts. I'm a very patient person and I'm very tolerant of people and their shenanigans and malarkey, if you have troubles finding someone to talk to or vent to I'd be more than happy to assist you as a last resort. http://www.troll.me/images/racist-dog/social-interaction-better-take-notes-thumb.jpg But seriously, don't take what I'm saying as the words of Christ.

There are of course nonverbal interactions that can show displays of friendly and romantic affection. In my experience, some of the best communicators may be awkward with words, but compensate by with interesting, fun, and emotionally fulfilling ways of bonding. For example, I have this one friend we call "Squish". And while she wasn't exactly the best speaker, she made most of her friends by turning life into a game. I remember shortly after meeting her, she just slaps my shoulder and shouts "Tag! You're it!" Man, I never had so much fun in a wallmart parking lot.
