Does appearance really matter?

As someone who identifies pansexual, I often have the tendency to put too much emphasis on personality, which is ironic considering your question. Physical attraction is one of many attributes that make up the attraction and "chemistry" of a relationship. Think of it more as a piece of the puzzle that makes the complete picture - That picture being your ideal partner. =]

Appearance does matter. I think that it is pretty natural getting attracted by certain people that we describe good-looking hoping they might be what we want. The only good determinant is personality, having the last word. It's what pretty much everyone have figured out already. I, personally, have known myself attracted to guys that I'd never thought I would because of their personalities so to me the best it's to not try anything before actually seeing and analyzing kinesthesia. This to me, has helped a lot when trying to get to know people. It even helped me choose someone I never regretted meeting until this point. So, good luck everyone.

Not at all. You can date a hot person who treats you like crap. A person you think is less attractive that treats you like crap. A hot person who treats you like gold. Or a person you think is less attractive that treats you like gold. It's all personality.

How much depends on the person but you can totally fall in love with someone's heart and soul and find their personality and even their body addictive. But when those lights come on and you actually look at them it can all come crashing down. Just as well for more shallow people looks can compensate for a slew of shortcomings that would be unacceptable in a person they didnt think looked like a greek god. But there are also cases where people end up felling for people they might previously have not even thought possible for them to be attracted to. Again, it depends on the individual.

Not entirely, however those who are a bit more self conscious about their appearance I generally am more attracted to. If you make no effort to look nice at all, I honestly can't find you attractive then..

Appearance matters about 40% to me! Personality and values make up the other 60% You should be physically attracted to one another and at the same time be able to have good chemistry with morals, values and personality ^_^
