Does appearance really matter?

Appearances matter those who say it does not " bull shit" jkjk but really if they can not even put some effort to their own appearance then how much are they willing to put into a relationship? Looks matter more than some might say. Attraction is important after all. It makes things a lot easier to look good and not just in romantic relationships either. Look up "the halo effect" or watch the show "Dating in the Dark" to see what I mean~ At the same time it's not the only important factor. Someone could look beautiful but their actions or personality could repulse you. And though rarely, a good personality can overcome someone not being as physically attracted as they normally would. Don't count on it happening too often but it can.

In my opinion,i would put it like this. For all people that says that appearence is the only important thing... Then go and date a doll...For those that say that personality is the only that matters, well its kinda hard to find something but does that mean you would date a 400Lbs 5' Guy/Girl? just if they have a very good personality. Or you would date a living thrash bag just if it has a good personality? For me I would date any girl(im my case Girl) that is taking any little care of her self,even if it is on minimum but has a relativly good personality. And would of course date a pretty girl,but would never let her to use me as her slave or anything likebthat. So my answer is yes and no. It does matter but it isnt thr core thing. She just has to show effort... No one is perfect the effort is what counts. At the end,i want to say that i don't want to offend anyone with this post. This is just my opinion and i am one of the youngest members here,so its just mine opinion. Ps. I wrote this on phone and can't edit it easily so i will let some of those mistakes to stay for some time... till tommorow evening :P

Appearance matters, but if your personality is really good, he or she will find you more attractive and he or she will be more mesmerize by your appearance in certain degree. Not sure if this applies to everyone, but that is what I experienced XD
