Bathory, Satyricon, Emperor, Mayhem, Burzum, Darkthrone, Alestorm, Slayer, pre '90s Metallica, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Accept, Dead Horse, Municipal Waste, Behemoth, DRI, Motley Crüe, Nitro, Skid Row, Sepultura, Brujeria, Soulfly, Body Count, I like a lot of NY Hardcore as well but that's Hardcore Punk

Yes. Dethklok are straight-up melodic death metal. :P Slipknot and Korn aren't technically metal. <_< Nu-metal has roots in hardcore and rap, as opposed to classic rock.
