Cool story sunflower. Looking forward to your new tale Pika ;>) Installment 15 of my story (Other parts of my story are on pages 151, 166, 214, 220, 246, 253, 260, 269, 271, 279, 294, 309, 321, 321): “Take him into your arms”, Creepy said tongue in cheek while she handed over the doll. Veruca felt the considerable weight of “Arc” pushing down on her arms as she took him. Veruca looked to Creepy and tenderly said, “Thank you Creepy. I’m forever grateful for what you did.”. The doll maker waved the praise away embarrassed. Lugging her doll she said her goodbyes to her friend. She weaved slowly in and out of the paths and side streets. Veruca came to a stop in front of a shop. The shop in question was painted in every conceivable colour of the rainbow-bright reds, exuberant purples, blinding green and so forth. To top it off there was a formidable hand carved sign hanging, announcing to the world: “Fancy Tailors”. She pushed open the door and a little bell rung announcing her entrance into the store. In a flash the colourful proprietor, Fancy, jumped up energetically from behind the counter, “Can I help you Veruca?”. Gingerly our protagonist lay down her load on the counter. Fancy looked on with caution as Veruca began to open her package that suspiciously looked like a corpse wrapped in a sheet. You could hear the exhalation of breath from Fancy when a wooden head was revealed and not a human one. Fancy quickly switched to her business-like manner, “So you want me to make clothes for the doll?”. Seeing Veruca’s surprise, Fancy went on “It’s not the first time I’ve made clothes for one of Creepy’s dolls. The way it was wrapped up had me a little concerned though…”. Veruca uncovered the upper half of the doll’s body. A light of recognition went on in Fancy’s eyes. “This is a doll of Arc, Veruca.”, Fancy said surprised. Nodding slightly Veruca said “Yes it is. Could you please make copies of clothes that the real Arc would wear?”. No weird request seemed to faze Fancy and she took everything in her stride. She replied cheerfully, “That would be easy because Arc bought a lot of his clothes from me. I still have the sketches of his commissions somewhere around here.”. Fancy began looking urgently around her shop. Veruca quietly stepped away and left the doll in Fancy’s care. With her head full of thoughts over saving Arc, she stepped onto the street. She walked on deep in thought until she hit something solid in front of her. The impact left her sprawling on her back. “Sorry, sorry, sorry”, a voice said profusely. A hand reached out to help her up. She gratefully took hold and pulled herself up. Oceanic was looking apologetically back at her with doe eyes. She cut a striking figure with her deep blue minstrel clothing and her long blonde hair. Veruca was dusting herself off and duly said, “No worries. Lately I’ve been falling on my ass a lot. I’m almost used to it.”. All the while Oceanic scrutinized Veruca with a quizzical expression. Finally the minstrel said “You look worried. Luckily I know a way to help you get relaxed.”. Oceanic was very sensitive to the emotional inclination of the people around her. She was the village minstrel but was also there to offer emotional support. Oceanic put her arm on Veruca’s shoulder and gently led her down the main street. They didn’t walk long until they were at the front door of a pub. The pub was “The Bouncing Barrel” to be exact.
